Well I know signing a petition is a small step but it’s better than nothing. And if one million (or more) do sign it, then it sends a message. Ideally, I’d like to see this kind of struggle take place on a community level, along with issues like the privatizing of local councils under the guise of ‘co-operatives’. Our local communities are the only thing we have left with which to organize within. Sure, we have trade unions and they have part to play, but they now constitute only a fraction of the working population. I think that if we are to regain control over our lives, it will have to start at the local level.
