Agreement between CONALCAM and COB
Agreement signed on September 17 by the organisations that make up the National Coalition for Change (indigenous, peasant, urban and social movements) and the Bolivian Workers Centre (COB). Present during the meeting were Evo Morales and a number of ministers and heads of state institutions.

Not content with the biggest massacre in the last 50 years, the ultra right is preparing a real genocide in Bolivia. By Hugo Moldiz
The fascist onslaught, foreseeable in the coming week, by the ultra right and their paramilitary groups, armed with automatic rifles, FALs and AKs, will be a real test of the level of consciousness and organisation of the people, the loyalty of the High Command of the Armed Forces, some of whom have tight links with the Pentagon, and the strength of the revolution.

Oppose the fascist coup in Bolivia! (Sign the petition)
Dear comrades and friends,
You will be aware of the US-backed “civic coup” underway in the Bolivia, and the threats this poses to democracy and all nations’ right to political, economic and social sovereignty.
We urge you/your organisation to sign the open petition we have initiated in support of President Evo Morales and the Bolivian people, and to circulate it widely among left and progressive individuals and activists.

At the beginning of the 20th Century, Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia were provinces in the Russian Empire. Protester summoned over June 29 action on ‘Salute Israel Day’

Dear friends,
Today I received a summons from City of Westminster Magistrate Court requiring me to appear at 70 Horseferry Road at 2 p.m. on Thursday 27th November to answer charges following our protests at the Salute Israel parade on June 29th. I stood behind the barrier with another activist as the parade turned down the Haymarket from Piccadilly Circus, displayed a slogan saying “Palestinian blood on Israeli hands” and held up hands stained with red food dye.

The offence with which I am charged is as follows:

. . used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby Contrary to section 5 (1) and (6) of the Public Order Act 1986

Please put the date in your diary as it would be good to have some friends in court! Any advice or suggestions welcome.

Regards,
Naomi

Can NATO Survive Georgia? By Immanuel Wallerstein
Amidst all the journalistic brouhaha about a new cold war, most analysts are missing out on the real crisis that has been crystallized by Saakashvili's imprudent excursion into South Ossetia. The very existence of NATO has been put into question.
