JULIAN ASSANGE: Countdown to Freedom
In the wake of the U.S. illegal drone strike and assassination of Qasem Soleimani, it has become all the more timely to expose the illegal activities of the U.S. government. Julian Assange did just that, and he is now facing extradition to the U.S. and a lifetime sentence behind the bars of a U.S. maximum security penitentiary. As his health declines, not only does he deserve our support at this critical moment, the right to publish and inform the public is at stake.
The series is called Julian Assange: Countdown to Freedom and is your first stop for late-breaking updates on the approaching extradition trial of Julian Assange in London.
The first new podcast is now available! Hear compelling clips from William Kunstler and John Pilger on extra-judicial and arbitrary detention as well as interviews with Coleen Rowley, retired FBI Special Agent and whistleblower, expert on criminal procedure constitutional law, and Nathan Fuller, director of the Courage Foundation which supports whistleblowers. And stay tuned as new episodes will be added weekly.
Randy Credico is an edgy political satirist, radical activist, standup comic, former candidate for Senator, Mayor, and Governor of New York – and, for the last 5 years, has been the go-to U.S. correspondent that Julian Assange would talk to.
Randy visited Julian at the Ecuadoran embassy in London and is actively coordinating public support for him in the U.S. and abroad. Because Randy is adept at evading news blackouts and cutting through official stonewalling, he’ll be bringing you gripping live-audio debriefings and analyses from the defense attorneys, witnesses, journalists and activists who are desperately fighting to protect Julian Assange from a lifetime sentence behind bars.
Prior and returning guests include renowned investigative journalist and documentarian John Pilger; animal rights activist and environmentalist Pamela Anderson; ex-CIA whistleblowers Ray McGovern and John Kirakou; public advocate Ralph Nader; author and historian Adam Hochschild; whistleblower, human rights activist and former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan Craig Murray; ex-National Security Agency code analyst and whistleblower William Binney; antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan; political activist and public intellectual Cornel West; singer, actor and activist Harry Belafonte; former NPR “Takeaway” host John Hockenberry; Julian Assange’s mother Christine Assange, and many more.
Don’t miss this first compelling episode–now available and broadcast exclusively at CovertAction Magazine.
