Wednesday, 7 December 2022 — Black Agenda Report

Hakeem Jeffries and the Railroad Workers
Margaret Kimberley
A new Black “first” came along at the same moment that the Democratic Party showed itself to be a servant of the ruling classes. Hakeem Jeffries is a very willing tool of powerful people. There is no reason to celebrate his ascension to the House Minority Leader position.

ESSAY: Labor, Neoliberalism, and the 2004 Coup in Haiti, Jeb Sprague, 2008
Editors, The Black Agenda Review
What role did labor play in the 2004 coup in Haiti? A 2008 essay illuminates the convergence of labor politics, neoliberal policy, and imperial malfeasance.

Georgian Legion [Source: dfwatch.net]

Part II of a CAM Series on the Georgian Legion

[See Part 1 here.—Editors]

The story of the Georgian Legion is more than just battles and atrocities. Far from the battlefield, thousands of people are now soldiers on a second, digital front. They are engaged in both propaganda and attack, relentlessly swarming anyone who dares to question approved narratives. These are not random Internet trolls; rather, they operate with the approval and backing of the Pentagon and the Ukrainian defense apparatus.

Scientists Struggle to Explain Why COVID Spared Unjabbed

Tuesday, 6 December 222 — Dr Mercola

Analysis by Dr. Joseph Mercola Fact Checked

Story at-a-glance

  • “Vaccine equity” remains high on the global cabal’s list of priorities, even though real-world evidence shows the COVID shots have done more harm than good
  • Africa, where fewer than 6% of people have received the COVID jab, have maintained an extremely low COVID-19 death rate throughout the last three years, likely because they didn’t have equal access to experimental COVID injections
  • While wholly ignoring the African experience, U.S. media are now trying to scare people into taking additional shots for fall by warning of an incoming “tripledemic” of COVID, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
  • The tripledemic narrative is scientifically implausible. Respiratory viruses tend to interfere with each other’s spread, such that one typically ends up dominating
  • Pfizer’s and Moderna’s pediatric trials both found RSV infection was more prevalent among children who got their COVID jabs than those who didn’t

An image of hope: Abahlali baseMjondolo’s fight for dignity and land, 17 years on

Sunday, 4 December 2022 — Peoples Dispatch

On November 17, a photo exhibition titled ‘Socialism or Death: Abahlali baseMjondolo on the Frontlines of Struggle’ opened at The Forge in Johannesburg. The work displayed chronicles the years-long struggle of South Africa’s shack dwellers movement to secure land and housing for the urban poor

by Tanupriya Singh

eKhenana AbM South Africa
(EKhenana was founded as a land occupation in 2018 and has faced numerous violent and illegal evictions over the years. On December 27, 2019, the shack dwellers’ movement Abahlali baseMjondolo won an interdict in the high court in Durban, preventing the municipality from continuing with illegal evictions. It was reaffirmed on April 20, 2020, after the municipality continued to evict and destroy the occupation, violating the court order and the government’s Covid-19 lockdown regulations. Since March this year, residents have also had to contend with the regular arrests of its leaders and killings. Three leaders of the Commune have been shot and killed by known suspects, and at times in broad daylight. (Caption and Photo by Nomfundo Xolo)

Artemovsk: The Beginning of the End for the Ukraine?

Tuesday, 6 December 2022 — The van says…

This is one of the luckier members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Many more like him have already perished, Kiev expending the lives of unwilling soldiers in a game it can never win.

Preamble

Those following current affairs in Eastern Europe cannot have failed to notice the bloody fighting in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) over recent days and weeks. As a stronghold of Ukrainian defenses, it is a very tough nut to crack, yet there may be more to Russia’s assault in the town that meets the eye. This article will examine why there may be more to Moscow’s moves in the area than are at first apparent.

Macron’s US visit tells Europe’s alienation

Sunday, 4 December 2022 — Indian Punchline

by M. K. BHADRAKUMAR

French President Emmanuel Macron (R) and US President Joe Biden met in the White House, Washington, DC, Dec. 1, 2022

The state visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to the United States stands out as a signpost of the alignments taking place against the backdrop of the historic churning in the world order. The two leaders went to extraordinary lengths to display bonhomie but how far that impressed  the two statesmen — Macron, an erudite mind and the most vocal European statesman on his continent’s integration and strategic autonomy vis-a-vis the US, and Biden, a veteran of international diplomacy — time will show.

Deliberate Ambiguity: Israel’s Nukes Are the Greatest Threat to the Middle East

Friday, 2 December 2022 — MintPress News

As western countries are floating the theory that Russia could escalate its conflict with Ukraine to a nuclear war, many western governments continue to turn a blind eye to Israel’s own nuclear weapons capabilities. Luckily, many countries around the world do not subscribe to this endemic western hypocrisy.
