The New Dark Age

To recap, last summer Health Secretary Wes Streeting sought to speed up the rollout of Palantir’s technology by demanding that all NHS Trusts in England adopt it. We feared that this marked the end of the road for our fight to get Palantir away from NHS patients’ health data.

BUT, it turns out that the rollout of the FDP is NOT going to plan!

To help shed light on what’s happening, some of our campaign partners have launched a new tool that tracks how each Trust is responding to the FDP rollout – information we can use to demand transparency and pressure for alternative, public-led solutions. It built its reputation on surveillance and military technology—not public service or healthcare. And right now it’s actively resourcing mass violence and war crimes committed against Palestinians by the Israeli state.

We cannot allow NHS data to become a profit-making asset for a deadly private tech giant. And although the government is trying to impose Palantir upon the NHS, patients and NHS staff across the country are resisting.

We will continue to do all we can to make the rollout of Palantir’s technology unworkable. We’re working closely with NHS workers resisting the rollout, and consulting with allied legal experts to find avenues that can shut it down and protect patients’ data.
