Iran: If Lebanon not included then no ceasefire

Fars News Agency reported, citing informed sources, that the question of Lebanon and a ceasefire in the country is “an absolute and non-negotiable precondition for Iran to enter any new negotiation process.”

The sources said that the Pakistani mediation proposal was also based on this principle, adding that the 10‑point proposal that Iran communicated to the international mediators includes a clear and explicit clause on the necessity of including Lebanon as part of a comprehensive ceasefire.

According to the sources, Tehran did not accept a ceasefire until the US side, and Trump personally, officially acknowledged acceptance of the entirety of this 10‑point package.

Accordingly, in light of the ongoing attacks on Lebanon, Iran considers negotiations strategically meaningless and futile, the sources added.

“This internal consensus means Tehran’s message is unified and transparent: if the issue of Lebanon is not resolved, there will be no negotiations,” the informed sources told Fars News Agency.

Regarding the expected countermeasures if a ceasefire in Lebanon does not materialize, the sources said that Iran’s diplomatic and military apparatus does not rely on a single option but uses multiple avenues to ensure Lebanon’s inclusion in the ceasefire.
