Pentagon in Chief Physician Role Adamant to Fight Ebola Virus

27.09.2014 | 00:00 | Vladimir NESTEROV

In early August the World Health Organization said the spread of Ebola was a problem of global scale. It recommended the introduction of emergency regime in all the countries where the threat had been revealed… There had been no vaccine until recently. Some time ago US scholars said they made a discovery to change the situation. The leading role in the implementation of US anti-Ebola program belongs to the Pentagon. Under pressure to do more to confront the Ebola outbreak sweeping across the continent, President Obama announced on September 16 an expansion of military and medical resources to combat the spread of the deadly virus outbreak in West Africa, including the deployment of 3,000 American troops to build treatment centers… It’s worth to note that all the countries hit by Ebola are oil and gas rich…

Modi Transforms India-China Relations (I)

27.09.2014 | 00:00 | Melkulangara BHADRAKUMAR

A well-known columnist of the Forbes magazine who writes on China, titled his article on Tuesday, «Who Sabotaged Chinese President Xi Jinping’s India Visit?» If Eric Meyer didn’t even want to have second thoughts as to whether there was indeed a ‘sabotage», it is understandable and seems logical. For, as he put it, the visit that was «touted as a breaking point in relationships» ended with results lagging from such hopes…

Western-backed Kiev Regime Burying the Truth over Atrocities?

26.09.2014 | 14:21 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

The grim discovery of mass graves in southeastern Ukraine this week implicates the Kiev regime in further war crimes. At least three such burial sites have been uncovered in recent days since the withdrawal of Kiev’s military forces from the areas under its control, as part of a belated ceasefire deal… Officials of the breakaway Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and local residents who returned to the village have accused the Ukrainian National Guard and associated pro-Kiev militia of involvement in the crimes… Russia’s foreign ministry has called for an international probe into what appears to be gross human rights violations committed by Kiev’s military units against civilians. Moscow wants the United Nations and the European Council to send human rights representatives to assess the findings…

Crimes Committed by Ukraine’s Military and Chasteners: from Illegal Arms Trafficking to Human Organs Trade

26.09.2014 | 00:00 | Alexander DONETSKY

…Those who live in Donbass have many times reported «mysterious graves» findings. Two movable crematoriums have been bought in Germany to get rid of the bodies. The burnt soldiers were reported to be missing in action… The OSCE observers discovered the mass grave near the 22-th Kommunarka mine in Lower Jug. Presumably, civilians were shot by the soldiers of the battalion Aydar. The victims were treated inhumanely, many bodies had hands tied behind his back, and they were shot in the back of the head at close range. One body belonged to a pregnant woman, the other female corpse was decapitated… Reports came from Ukrainian military hospitals that in some cases human organs were extracted and exported to the United States and Europe to be used for transplant… The evidence is plentiful – Ukraine has become a safe haven for human organs traffickers…

Fighting ISIL is a Smokescreen for US Mobilization against Syria and Iran

26.09.2014 | 00:00 | Mahdi Darius NAZEMROAYA

The ISIL or IS threat is a smokescreen. The strength of the ISIL has deliberately been inflated to get public support for the Pentagon and to justify the illegal bombing of Syria. It has also been used to justify the mobilization of what is looking more and more like a large-scale US-led military buildup in the Middle East. The firepower and military assets being committed go beyond what is needed for merely fighting the ISIL death squads. While the US has assured its citizens and the world that troops will not be sent on the ground, this is very unlikely…

Scotland Kicks off Process of Europe’s Fragmentation

25.09.2014 | 00:00 | Valéry VRUBLEVSKY

The Scottish referendum results show that something is rotten in the state of the United Kingdom. The event has given an impetus to the separatist aspirations in Ulster, Wales and the Island of Maine and even in the tin-rich Cornwall County believed to be the homeland of legendary king Arthur. The idea of getting more preferences from London without offering anything in return has become popular. The referendum has changed Scotland. The turnout was great with people of all walks of life and ages going to polls… In Europe separatists are gaining strength in Catalonia, Flandria (Belgium), Corsica (France), Northern Italy and Bavaria (Germany). They construe the referendum results as a victory of independent Scotland because it has asserted its right to self-determination…

Currency Swaps in the Modern world. The Birth of the Global Currency Cartel (I)

25.09.2014 | 00:00 | Valentin KATASONOV

Currency swaps (currency exchange transactions) have become a hot topic in today’s media. Just about every month we find out that some country has signed a currency swap agreement with some other country, and there are already dozens of these agreements in the world… At present, more is said about currency swaps as a means of strengthening the national currencies of countries on the periphery of global capitalism, so as a means of fighting the hegemony of the dollar and the dictatorship of the US in world trade and international finance… We will begin our analysis, however, with currency swaps in a narrow group of select countries belonging to the so-called ‘golden billion’…

Poroshenko Goes to America. Looking at Visit Results

24.09.2014 | 00:00 | Boris NOVOSELTSEV

Kiev had great expectations of the event in belief the Obama-Poroshenko talks would go beyond friendship and support assurances to bring about some practical results too… The insignificant visit results and the consent to conclude the armistice resulted in growing opposition to the President of Ukraine… Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk is considered to be one of «war party» leaders… He is showing restraint. Before the parliamentary election the Prime Minister will be on the fence while maneuvering between Poroshenko and his opponents and doing his best to make appear that there is consensus found within the ranks of Ukrainian political elite. Washington is supposed to support Yatsenyuk to use after the election as leverage to influence President Poroshenko… The US final mission is to destabilize Ukraine making Russia concentrate all the efforts on the problem to the detriment of other foreign policy issues. America provides Poroshenko with enough aid to make the conflict keep on smouldering and never end…

The Anglos: Experts at Reneging on Sovereignty Promises

24.09.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

It should be apparent to every national sovereignty movement that finds itself up against well-entrenched moneyed interests, whether they sit in positions of power in London or Ottawa, that the promises made by the oligarchs of Anglo politico-economic power are never to be trusted. The London coalition government of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, as well as the opposition Labor Party, are playing the same game with Scotland that the Ottawa government played with Quebec after the French-speaking province voted to reject independence in a 1980 referendum. English politicians… after promising increased powers to Scotland if the country voted to reject independence, are already backtracking on a promised «devolution max»…

Marina Silva – Part of Plan to Destabilize Brazil

23.09.2014 | 00:01 | Nil NIKANDROV

Washington has launched a large-scale propaganda campaign to support Marina Silva, the Brazilian presidential race candidate for the Brazilian Socialist Party. They keep on saying her victory is guaranteed in the final election. The predictions mainly boil down to uncertain results in the first round slated for October 5. Brazil is becoming a strong, sovereign and self-assertive state with great clout in the Western Hemisphere challenging the US influence. The debates in Washington are held behind closed doors but one thing is evident – the US wants to change Rousseff for somebody more pliant. Marina Silva seems to serve the purpose.

Referendum in Scotland and Separatist Trend in Europe

23.09.2014 | 00:01 | Natalia MEDEN

Alex Salmond is to step down as first minister of Scotland and as leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) after voters rejected independence in Thursday’s (September 18) referendum. What kind of a person is he, the man who leads the Scottish nationalists? Is he a loser or a just someone who happened to be ahead of the times? Time will tell. It’s not right to call the referendum historic and believe Scotland will always be part of Great Britain. The prevailing majority of young people voted for independence while elder people wanted to remain part of the United Kingdom.

General ‘Breedhate’ in Another Sabotage Sortie

22.09.2014 | 00:02 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

US Air Force General Philip Breedlove strafed the renewed peace plan for Ukraine before it barely got off the ground at the weekend, thereby aiming to shoot down another political bid to end months of deadly violence in the country. It’s not the first time that the NATO military chief has used high-flown rhetoric to preempt a diplomatic solution to end the fighting in war-torn eastern Ukraine. That conflict has claimed nearly 3,000 lives over the past six months, with up to one million civilians displaced and millions more trapped in a spiralling humanitarian crisis. The irresponsible language of Four-Star General Breedlove in exacerbating the crisis makes one wonder if his name should not henceforth be known as General “Breedhate”.

West Responds to Islamic State Gains and Successes

22.09.2014 | 00:02 | Boris DOLGOV

No matter the United States and Great Britain claim to form a coalition of 40 states to fight the Islamic State, there is little done in practice. The United Sates are pursuing the very same goals as in the past: to overthrow Bashar Assad in Syria, make forces hostile to Tehran and Damascus come to power in Iraq, weaken Iran and Shia Hezbollah movement on Lebanon and then move jihad closer to the Russian borders. Washington hopes that the Ukraine’s crisis will divert Moscow efforts and limit its influence in the Middle East.

Russia-Egypt Arms Deal: Major Breakthrough as US Middle East Policy Faces Another Set Back

21.09.2014 | 00:02 | Andrei AKULOV

Russian President Vladimir Putin met Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, Russia, on August 12, 2014. It was his first official visit to the Russian Federation as President. And Vladimir Putin was the first leader to invite him for a visit outside the Arab world since his swearing-in as head of state. The agenda included introduction to a selection of Russian military hardware for sale. On September 17 it was reported that Russia and Egypt have reached a preliminary deal for Cairo to buy arms worth $3.5 billion from Moscow. Egypt and Russia have a history of being strategic allies. The emerging relationship reminds of the era of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the great Egyptian leader. The deal concluded between Russia and Egypt on September 17 portends a gradual reduction in Washington’s ability to control the quality and quantity of weapons that Cairo receives and to maintain Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region.

US Pushes Iran To Red Line

21.09.2014 | 00:01 | Nikolai BOBKIN

Iranand six world powers (Russia, the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and China) began an expert-level meeting about Tehran’s nuclear program on Thursday, September 19, part of efforts to reach an agreement by late July on how to resolve a decade-old dispute that has stirred fears of a Middle East war. SeyedAbbas Araghchi, the Iranian Deputy Ministerfor Foreign Affairs, said before the talks kicked off that those serious differences remained but Iran hoped to achieve positive results with the 5+1 group and especially talking with the United States, Russia and China. There are clear signs that Iran is not prepared to pay any price. The respect for Iran’s rights and achievements of Iranian scholars is a red line not to be crossed.
