Political Successors of Banderite Killers Slap Poland in the Face

18.04.2015 | 00:03 | Nikolai MALISHEVSKI

The Polish social democratic political party Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) considers the Ukrainian parliament’s recent recognition of the UPA as fighters for independence to be an insult to Poland and its President, Bronislaw Komorowski, an SLD representative stated at a press conference on April 12. The UPA is the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, a wing of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). In the days of the Second World War it collaborated with Hitler’s Germany, including the Wehrmacht, police and security services.

Ukrainian Regime Persecutes and Kills Opposition Politicians and Journalists

18.04.2015 | 00:02 | Alexander DONETSKY

The new regime in Kiev pursues the goal of eliminating all dissent in the country…
A number of political assassinations and murders under strange circumstances proves that the crackdown against dissenters is gaining momentum…
After the murder of Charlie Hebdo journalists people in Europe hit the streets of European cities with placards Je Suis Charlie, including those who did not like the cartoonists…
Not a single man in Europe or the United States went to the streets carrying a Je Suis Bouzina poster to protest the assassination of fearless journalist who fought the revived Ukrainian Nazism…
The West turns a blind eye on the connivance of Kiev at Nazis and the fact that Ukrainian special services sponsor serial political murders hoping to turn Ukraine into an enemy of Russia.

America’s Weaponising of Ignorance

17.04.2015 | 00:01 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

The contract killing of two opposition figures in Kiev this week is stark evidence that the country under the Western-backed regime is descending into a fully-fledged state of chaos and criminality… The Western depiction of developments under the Kiev regime is a stupendous feat of denial over what is really happening in Ukraine. The practice of oligarch-banditry and the surge in Nazi-styled paramilitaries, brashly donning SS insignia and carrying out war crimes against the ethnic Russian population; the indiscriminate shelling of eastern Ukrainian cities and villages under the orders of Kiev leaders; and the economic blockade of the breakaway region in a Nazi policy of collective punishment – all these violations have been comprehensively denied by Western governments and their mass media…

Russian Gas and European Interests

17.04.2015 | 00:00 | Pyotr ISKENDEROV

Europe is running low on time. It has yet to create the infrastructure for transit of Russian gas from Turkey. Speaking at the Valdai Club conference on European energy security in Berlin on April 13, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said the European infrastructure for accepting deliveries of Russian gas through Turkish Stream should be in place by 2019. Joining Miller, Russian Economy Minister Alexander Novak added that «the [transit] contract [with Ukraine] is in force until the end of 2019»… He also said that Gazprom has no need to discuss Turkish Stream’s leg under the Black Sea with its European partners. Europe has to define its priorities in energy and it has a limited choice…

Yemen: Prospects Uncertain

16.04.2015 | 09:26 | Arkady DZIUBA

Rich Saudi lobby enjoys strong position in the United States. Some believe it to be more influential than the Jewish one. On March 9, 47 US Republican senators signed an open letter to the Iranian leadership addressed to «leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran» declaring that any agreement without legislative approval could be reversed by the next president «with the stroke of a pen»… True, lifting sanctions is an issue of paramount importance for Iran. For the sake of reaching this goal Tehran is ready to make concessions when it comes to other issues, like Yemen, for instance. But things look different when you are told directly that the nuclear deal has no chance to be ratified…

Germany: The National Memory and the Second World War

16.04.2015 | 00:00 | Natalia MEDEN

The West believes that the anniversaries of the main events of World War Two have already been celebrated after organising a theatrical performance dedicated to the Normandy landings… In the run-up to the 70-year anniversary, some German newspapers introduced a special section devoted to history, publishing materials related to the Second World War. As a general rule, these publications serve to reinforce the old stereotypes in the German collective memory, sometimes giving them new shades. Recognition of the German people’s guilt for the Holocaust is still the centre of attention… The fact that the war in the East was radically different from the war waged by the Third Reich in the West has been completely forgotten. In the East, the Germans waged a war of annihilation (Vernichtungskrieg) against the USSR…

The Hillary Doctrine: «We Came, We Saw, They Died»

16.04.2015 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

Those who argue that the so-called «Obama Doctrine» on foreign policy has been amorphous and conflicting, at best, see the prospects of a Hillary Clinton administration as even more damaging to U.S. foreign policy… Not only were the most notable failures of Obama’s foreign policy a direct result of Mrs. Clinton’s saber-rattling and brinkmanship on the world stage, but her willingness to engage in operations paralleling the themed revolution mania of George Soros has many diplomats worried that a Hillary Clinton administration, with her husband as «roving ambassador», will see more foolhardy interventionist American adventurism…

TIME Magazine Invaded by Kremlin Troll Army

15.04.2015 | 11:21 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

…Russian President Vladimir Putin came top of the TIME 100 readers’ poll. The New York-based magazine claims to have a worldwide readership of 25 million – the largest among any weekly publication. The TIME 100 annual survey of its readers elected Putin as the most influential world figure in 2015. He bested other world leaders and celebrities, including Pope Francis and American President Barack Obama… The hugely significant fact is that more than two-thirds of TIME’s readers who voted are reportedly based in the United States, Canada and Britain…

Will Washington Kill Us All?

15.04.2015 | 09:32 | Paul Craig ROBERTS

…The situation is deteriorating, not improving. The Russians, hoping for some sign of intelligence in Europe, contradict Washington’s anti-Russian lies. Washington calls truthful contradiction of its own propaganda to be Russian propaganda. Washington has ordered the Broadcasting Board of Governors, a US government agency, headed by Andrew Lack, a former chairman of NBC news, to counteract an alleged, but non-existent, «Kremlin Troll Army» that is outshouting the Western prostitutes and «perpetuating a pro-Russian dialogue» on the Internet. In case you don’t remember, Lack is the idiot who declared RT to be a «terrorist organization»…

Iran is Smashing the Strategic Pincers that Grip It

15.04.2015 | 00:00 | Dmitry MININ

The Lausanne agreements on Iran’s nuclear program will naturally have a significant effect on the geopolitics of the Middle East, but not necessarily in the way some of the US sponsors of this process have calculated. Tehran seems the only clear beneficiary here, and that country is taking advantage of President Obama’s vanity (as he tries to achieve some sort of high-profile foreign-policy success in the twilight of his professional life) by wrangling an escape from the strategic pincers it is trapped in…

Summit of Americas in Panama: No Compromise Found

14.04.2015 | 09:49 | Nil NIKANDROV

The seventh Summit of the Americas was held at Panama City, Panama, on April 10–11, 2015… The conflict between the United States and Venezuela was in focus. The deterioration of relations was sparked by the fact that on March 9 U.S. President Barack Obama signed an executive order which declared Venezuela a national security threat… Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta Jacobson said the anti-Venezuelan decree would not be called off…

Hillary Clinton – the ‘Liberal’ Puppet for War

14.04.2015 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

Hillary Clinton this week launched her bid for the US presidential elections in 2016. Among the copious coverage in Western media was the small but highly significant detail: her presidential campaign will have a war chest of $2.5 billion. The former US Senator and Secretary of State is said to have a personal net worth of between $50-100 million. However, if she is selected by the Democratic party to make a run for the White House most of her presidential campaign will be bankrolled by corporations and super-wealthy backers like financier George Soros through his Democracy Alliance foundation. That alone tells where her political loyalties and priorities lie…

Pakistan and Decisive Storm in Yemen

14.04.2015 | 00:00 | Igor PANKRATENKO

Looks like Islamabad tries to dodge taking an active part in the military operation against Yemen. Pakistani Prime Minister Navaz Sharif owes Saudi Arabia. It saved his life and let his clan prosper. Thanks to kingdom’s interference he was exiled from the country instead of facing the death sentence handed down by the country’s Supreme Court in 2001. Sharif was sheltered by Saudi Arabia after the coup that overthrew him in 1999. The benevolent attitude of kingdom’s ruling circles contributed to success of his family business. Now Riyadh is irritated by the fact that personal close relationship with the Prime Minister does not guarantee Pakistan’s participation in the operation against Yemen…

Vienna, Alps and Danube Must Be Remembered

13.04.2015 | 10:50 | Yuriy RUBTSOV

April 13, 1945 at 21.00 hours (Moscow time) Moscow saluted with 24 artillery salvoes from 324 guns the gallant troops of the 3rd Ukrainian Front which captured the city of Vienna… The Soviet casualties were 168 thousand men (death toll – 38661). The Soviet War Memorial in Vienna, more formally known as the Heldendenkmal der Roten Armee (English: Heroes’ Monument of the Red Army), is located at Schwarzenbergplatz… The Heroes’ Monument of the Red Army in Vienna was built to commemorate 17,000 Soviet soldiers who fell in the Battle for Vienna. The memorial is still in place and kept in good condition. Austria is not in a hurry to revise the history…

US Southern Command on the Way to Revive Cold War

13.04.2015 | 00:00 | Nil NIKANDROV

The United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM)… has a wide range of measures at its disposal to be used as leverage over the countries of the region, including blackmail, discrediting evidence accumulated by US special services, usual corrupt practice, like, for instance, offering bribes to top political and military leaders… The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) is considered as a geopolitical threat by the United States. Some members of the alliance, such as Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Bolivia, are not controlled by Washington. They implement independent policies and are looked upon as enemies by the United States…

April 12 – Black Day in History of US Aviation

12.04.2015 | 01:28 | Nikolai MALISHEVSKI

There are two reasons why April 12 is considered to be a black day in the history of US aviation. It is the day when Vostok aircraft led by astronaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human to journey into outer space, completed an orbit flight around the Earth in 1961. The other event was not that much in spotlight. Exactly ten years before Gagarin made his flight, Russian aces under the command of Ivan Kozhedub, a Hero of the Soviet Union on three occasions who commanded the 324th Fighter Air Division, dissipated the myth of invulnerability of B-29 Superfortress, a four-engine propeller-driven heavy bomber… The engagement took place on April 12, 1951 during the war in Korea…

Obama’s «Diplomacy» Masks His Bullying at Jamaica and Panama Summits

12.04.2015 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

U.S. President Barack Obama had a number of awkward encounters with Latin American and Caribbean leaders at the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM) summit in Jamaica and the Summit of the Americas in Panama. Present in Jamaica were leaders like Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit. Skerrit had denounced Obama’s policy of sanctions against Dominica’s ally Venezuela and Washington’s calling the government headed by President Nicolas Maduro a threat to U.S. national security. Obama and his advisers were awkwardly forced to «walk back» the national security threat charge against Venezuela during both summit venues…

Anti-Russia Economic Sanctions Prove Western Banking System to Be Nothing but House of Cards

11.04.2015 | 16:09 | Valentin KATASONOV

…According to the last year’s research done by the International Monetary Fund, only 30% out of 300 European banks have the structure and reserves to guarantee profit for a long time compared to 80% in the United States. The European banking system is on its last legs. As Paul Craig Roberts says – it may be brought down as a house of cards. It’s enough for Russian to introduce a moratorium on debt payments. If Greece joins in – the collapse is inevitable… If the European system collapses, the banks of the United States will be next…
