Volodymyr Zelensky showed up at the White House, in his best attire, which even President Trump had to note and admire, and decided that it would be the height of diplomacy to get into a verbal fight with both the President and Vice-President of the United States—for those who might not now remember, the US has been the primary funder and sponsor for everything that Zelensky has been doing to his country for the past three years.
And it is likely that Zelensky came primed for precisely this sort of a confrontation, in which he hoped to get the better of Trump by embarrassing him and thereby forcing him to concede to what Zelensky wants—more money, more weapons, and more war. It would appear that he was likely primed by the phony bravura that has now gripped European leaders and others (Canada) who played lapdog to former President Biden. With the EU and Canada behind him, how could he lose?
On February 24, 2025, leaders from various European countries and institutions issued joint statements commemorating the third anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. These statements collectively emphasized several key points:
- There was the requisite condemnation of Russia, because it was engaging in an illegal, unprovoked, and unjustified full-scale military invasion of Ukraine. This is the old rhetoric that once got everyone fired up—and it is now dull as dishwater.
- EU Leaders reiterated their unwavering support for Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity—whatever this even means. Of course, the European Union provided Ukraine with €135 billion of taxpayers money, in economic, humanitarian, financial, and military assistance, including €48.7 billion in military aid.
- The EU adopted a sixteenth sanctions package because this would increase pressure on Russia and limit its ability to wage war. Never mind what these sanctions are doing to Europe. The chihuahuas of Europe, the Nordic-Baltic countries, pledged to continue putting maximum pressure on Russia through sanctions and measures against “the shadow fleet.” This would have Trump shaking in his boots.
- These same Nordic-Baltic countries are among the top contributors to Ukraine, and have pledged to provide more support, including air defense and ammunition, and to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry (who knew there was one).
- The statements emphasized support for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and NATO (who knew that the EU controls NATO). The EU has also granted Ukraine candidate country status and launched accession negotiations. The EU will go bankrupt if Ukraine ever joins.
- These brilliant EU leaders called for accountability for all war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the conflict. Maybe they’ll begin with looking at what the Azov Battalion and various other neo-Nazis have been up to since 2014, which have been published in this magazine here, here and here.
- The statements also stuck in something about peace—but only if the EU and Ukraine are at the negotiating table. Of course, these same EU leaders forgot about all those “peace” meetings that they organized—without Russia at the negotiating table..
No wonder Zelensky thought he would the king of the hill at the White House. Wouldn’t you feel the same if had such heavy-duty diplomats (or is it dipsticks?) behind you as Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa, not to mention the real stalwarts of Europe, Sir Keir Starmer, Emanuel Macron and some guy from Germany named Merz who once worked in the upper echelons of Blackrock—yes, that Blackrock?
So, these dullest knives in the diplomacy drawer pumped up their guy and sent him off to Washington to win over Trump. And the result was a disaster. They thought they had a surefire winner in Zelensky who would soon bring Trump to heel and have him eating out of Ursula’s hand. After all, Zelensky was an actor in his former life—and he had practiced his lines well.
These EU leaders actually do believe all their lies—well, to be honest, these lies have yielded good results for them these past three years, with all of the West united to bring down Putin, and billions flowing into various Kiev coffers.
True to form, Zelensky repeated these lies—that Putin is a vile criminal gangster who is hellbent on conquering all of Europe—if it weren’t for testy Ukraine fighting for all of us, Starmer would be speaking Russian by now. And Ukrainians are fighting so “we” can still have “freedom” and “democracy”—and all those other “shared values”—which make sure that we cheer the loudest when more Ukrainians die.
But Zelensky quickly found out that all those lines he was made to memorize, and all those talking points about Putin were having zero effect. And he completely lost his cool—because he suddenly had no script left—just his own brain, which wasn’t working too well.
What the EU and Zelensky do not want to understand is that the Bidenesque ploys of trying to regime change Russia are now utterly dead “diplomacy.”
The Russophobic rhetoric, cultivated for three long, dreary years, is also now dead. And those in power in Washington no longer want to hear Ukraine’s or Europe’s (or Canada’s) Russophobia. The script has changed entirely, finally for the better.
In fact, in the encounter, President Trump made a very telling observation—in his first term in office, both Putin and Russia were greatly maligned via the “Russia hoax,” and via which Trump was portrayed as “Putin’s puppet.” Many in that camp in America likely still believe that; no doubt Zelensky was also speaking to them when he tried to stick it to Trump.
There is now an emergency meeting set for March 2, 2025, in London, where the various Western brainiacs will gather to hold hands, give each other hugs, comfort Zelensky, and vow to fight Russia, if they have to. It’s called the “Support Ukraine” meeting, which as the name suggests will try to come up with ways to “support” Zelensky.
Starmer is playing the host, and Zelensky will play the role of the embattled, abandoned “hero,” whose courage knows no bounds.
It will be a pie-in-the-sky event, with a lot of hot-air and chest-beating about the necessity for enhanced defense collaboration among European nations. They will rehash the usual topics: Ukraine’s needs for more money and more weapons. Oh, and they will look at ways of “defending” Ukraine, without the United States. Good luck with that.
It’s simply a way to compensate Zelensky after his humiliation in the White House. These deadbeat politicians have no idea what to do about the grim reality that now confronts them: The world they imagined they would create by trying to defeat Russia has now turned into their worst nightmare.
As for Zelensky, well, he went to the White House and like the proverbial dog pissed. His days are numbered—and everyone knows it.
Trump has zero interest in what this unelected strongman of Ukraine is still trying to hawk. Even his ambassador to the US was trying to hide her face at the disaster she and the world were witnessing. The movie just ended, very unhappily.
So, what did Ukraine actually achieve in three bloody years of war, aside from making Zelensky and a lot of the Ukrainian political class rich?
No one is brave enough to answer this question yet—but maybe Europe and others (yes, you, Canada) will find brains enough to finally answer this important question—lest they all suffer the same fate as Zelensky.
More power to Trump for finally aligning the United States to the side of truth. Too long has it been mired in promoting endless lies about Russia and about President Putin.
Now, if only President Trump would flip the script on Gaza, Israel and the Middle East, his term in office would be truly monumental. One can only pray.
