People arriving in the UK to seek safety are increasingly facing deportation or criminal prosecution. In response, a campaign has been launched on CrowdJustice to support people on the move to resist cruelty.
This campaign is raising funds to provide legal representation to individuals at risk of removal from the UK, or those being prosecuted for arriving into the country through irregular routes. The campaign has also received £1000 in match funding to amplify your donations.
Refugee Legal Support are working with legal professionals and grassroots groups to ensure that people have access to fair hearings, proper legal advice, and the opportunity to challenge decisions that may have life-altering consequences.
Every contribution, no matter the size, supports access to justice where it is most urgently needed:
-
£30 could pay for an hour of interpretation so that the team can work with clients in their own language.
-
£50 could help them to visit a refugee camp to bring legal information to people who urgently need it.
-
£100 could help towards submitting an application to reunite a family.
This is a chance to ensure that legal rights are upheld and that decisions are made with due process.
