El proceso de la COP 15 ha concluido. La presión popular se enfrentó a un proceso ineficaz, así como la resistencia de los gobiernos y empresas hacia los parámetros básicos de la justicia social para hacer frente a la crisis climática. 1. La red de Justicia Climática de Acción en Europa celebró recientemente una reunión en Amsterdam (27-28 de febrero) para evaluar y planificar. En resumen: Otra reunión internacional se celebrará en Bonn a finales de mayo. Un día de acción y una organización de campañas de la comunidad está prevista para octubre.
2. La Conferencia Mundial de los Pueblos sobre el cambio climático y los Derechos de la Madre Tierra que sucederá en Cochabamba, Bolivia, 19 a 22 abril 2010 reuniendo a personas, gobiernos y organizaciones. 4. La red de Justicia Climática de Acción está llamando en Europa para otra reunión internacional que se celebrará en Bonn, Alemania (28 de mayo – 31). Una acción y campañas organizadoras locales está previsto para octubre. Para obtener más información sobre la sede www.climate-justice-action.org. Los objetivos estratégicos y los principios para el trabajo conjunto se adjuntan.
5. Las fechas propuestas para una asamblea popular de gente regional de Asia y la “Justicia Climática Ahora Asia Asamblea” son en mayo 31- 3 junio de la Cumbre Regional y 4 de junio de CJN Asia Asamblea (posible lugar de celebración: Tailandia, Dhaka, Bangladesh o Kalimantan en Indonesia – la idea es celebrar la Asamblea sobre la delincuencia del “clima” del área. 6. La oposición a la reunión de los gobiernos G8/G20 (muchos de los gobiernos que fracasaron en el proceso de la COP 15) que ocurrirá en Toronto, Canadá a finales de junio. The COP15 process has been and gone. Grassroots pressure came up against an ineffective process as well as resistance by governments and corporations to basic parameters of social justice in dealing with the climate crisis. Since then many things have been happening in the networks built during the lead up to Copenhagen. Attached you will find more information on the events listed below.
1. The Climate Justice Action network in Europe recently held a meeting in Amsterdam (February 27-28) to evaluate and plan. The notes from this meeting are available in English at ( www.climate-justice-action.org/resources/documents/). Attached is the summary. Briefly: Another international meeting will be held in Bonn at the end of May. An action day /& community organizing campaigns day is being planned for October.
2. The World People’s Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth will happen in Cochabamba, Bolivia, April 19 to 22, 2010 bringing together people, governments and organizations. For more information see pwccc.wordpress.com/. The conference will also be shown live on the internet in English and Spanish as it happens.
3. A prepatory meeting of all social movements to plan for COP16 will be held in Mexico city, Mexico on on May 5 and 6, 2010. For more information contact enlace @ viacampesinanorteamerica.org . Letter of invitation in english, spanish, and french attached.
4. The Climate Justice Action network in Europe are calling for another international meeting to be held in Bonn, Germany (May 28 – 31st). An action & local organizing campaigns day is being planned for October. For more information on the see www.climate-justice-action.org. The strategic goals and principles for working together are attached.
5. The proposed dates for an Asian Regional People’s Assembly and the Climate Justice Now Asia Assembly are 31 May – 3 June for the Regional Summit and 4 June for CJN Asia Assembly (Possible venue: Thailand, Dhaka, Bangladesh or Kalimantan in Indonesia – the idea is to hold the assembly on a “climate crime” area.) 6. Opposition to the G8/G20 Governments meeting (many of the governments that failed the COP15 process) will happen in Toronto, Canada at the end of June. For more information on the Toronto Community Mobilization Network action days June 25-27 see g20.torontomobilize.org/.
