“I can’t sleep. I’m lying in bed every night, and images of Gaza are running through my head. Fathers holding their babies, dead, caked in dust. Bombs dropped on homes, on hospitals, on schools. Tens of thousands of dead in indiscriminate bombings. Children crying, pulling through rubble to find their families.”

Those words were written by Irish tech innovator Paul Biggar on his blog last week.

Paul is founder and CEO of Darklang, a next generation developer tool. Before this he founded CircleCI, a company currently valued at $1.7 billion.

Pro-Israeli investors have created a culture of fear in tech where supporters of Palestinian freedom feel unable to raise their voices,” Paul adds. “I have spoken to many people in tech who are afraid that if they speak up, they’ll be unable to raise their next round [of investment], and lose 5–10 years of work on their venture, for their families and for their employees.”

Despite this, workers at Google protested outside their company’s offices in San Franciso last week, to demand that the firm end Project Nimbus, a $1.2 billion contract with the Israeli government and military.

Meanwhile, dozens of US-based tech investors and top executives were set to arrive in Israel this week, to meet with senior government officials in what Israeli media are calling a “show of solidarity.”

Given the dominant though sometimes unseen role of tech in our modern lives, Paul will join us to talk about how the industry aids and abets Israel’s crimes.

He is calling on people in tech to speak out about Gaza and refuse to be “complicit in genocide.”

“Don’t make money for investors who whitewash genocide,” he urges, naming names of venture capital firms he says have promoted or are involved in Israeli propaganda.

Also on today’s show we will provide an update on the situation in Gaza as Israel presses its genocidal war in all areas of the territory, and try to connect with friends who have family in Gaza.

Jon Elmer will talk about Yemen’s humanitarian military intervention, imposing a blockade of Israel-bound shipping through the Bab al-Mandab Straits into the Red Sea, until Tel Aviv stops its genocidal bombing and ends its ban on life essentials, including water, food and medicine from reaching Palestinians in Gaza in sufficient quantities.

We’ll talk about the latest videos and developments related to the resistance. Nora Barrows-Friedman, Asa Winstanley, Jon and I are looking forward to see you.
