The Electronic Intifada livestream is starting soon.
On Friday, the International Court of Justice will deliver a key ruling in South Africa’s genocide case against Israel over its ongoing extermination of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The judges in The Hague will deliver their much-anticipated decision on South Africa’s request for urgent provisional measures to stop the killing and other genocidal crimes by Israel, at a public hearing at 1200 GMT.
We will be joined on our livestream later in the day, at our usual time, by Susan Akram to help us understand what the judges have decided and how it may impact the dire situation.
Susan is director of Boston University Law’s International Human Rights Clinic. She has taught at the American University in Cairo and at Al-Quds University and Birzeit University in Palestine.
Among her dozens of books and scholarly articles, Susan Akram is co-editor,
with Michael Dumper, Michael Lynk and Iain Scobbie, of the volume International Law and the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: A Rights-Based Approach to Middle East Peace.
