US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday pledging to deport college students on educational visas who take part in protests in support of Palestinian rights – all under the guise of combating anti-Semitism.

This comes after the unprecedented crackdown on students protesting the Israeli genocide in Gaza, armed and supported by the Biden administration, on American college campuses last spring.

Meanwhile, Harvard University has settled a lawsuit brought by Zionist students who alleged that Palestine solidarity activism on campus is a form of harassment.

In addition to awarding the pro-Israel student group financial compensation, Harvard has agreed to implement the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s so-called definition of anti-Semitism.

The IHRA definition, which is aggressively promoted by Israel and its lobby, conflates criticism of the Zionist state with anti-Jewish bigotry.

We will be joined today by Abed Ayoub, executive director of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), to talk about the US government’s escalating attack on those who speak up for Palestinian rights and what we can do to protect ourselves individually and collectively.

In her news brief, Nora Barrows-Friedman will catch us up on key developments in Gaza and across Palestine. Jon Elmer will cover the prisoner exchange in Gaza City, newly released videos of Beit Hanoun operations before the ceasefire and the footage showing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar on the frontlines.

Please join Nora, Jon, Ali Abunimah, Tamara Nassar and Asa Winstanley for all this and more.Thank you for reading, listening to and sharing all our original news and analysis at The Electronic Intifada.

We’re an independent publication. Our work is only possible thanks to supporters like you. Please make a gift so we can keep exposing Israel’s lies and telling Palestine’s stories.
