The third and final day in court is on Monday 9th.
The first two days went well for us. It was very clear early in the case that there was a clear safety issue that needed to be addressed.
There are full summaries of what happened on our website.

Day two – the decision not to set scope
https://anaesthetistsunited.com/day-two-in-court/
Towards the end of the second day it became apparent that some absolutely key information was missing. The judge asked for this to be supplied – more information on this is at https://anaesthetistsunited.com/what-havent-they-told-us/
So on the final day we – and the judge – will be expecting some answers to some tough questions.
For example, why does GMC advice refer to UMAPS (the PAs trades union) documentation but not that from the Medical Royal Colleges?
One of the key issues under scrutiny is how the decision not to set Scope of Practice of PAs was reached. A decision that was not to be taken lightly, given the enormous ramifications; so one would have expected detailed risk-assessment to have been carried out.
Yet instead, Professor Melville told the court that each individual decision-maker in the GMC was simultaneously struck with the absolute certainty that this was the right thing to do – even those aware of their over-arching duty to public safety.
They are continuing to be funded centrally for defending themselves in court against us, whereas we are reliant on donations. The extra day hearing has ramped up our expenses, and there has been a lot of preparatory work. So we are asking again for cash. We are grateful for the donations we have received so far – and we hope Consultants and SAS Doctors could consider a larger donation.
Many many thanks.
