Staying safer during anti-fascist protests

Thursday, 24 July 2025 — NetPol

The last few weeks have seen a rise in racist far-right violence, with large fascist mobilisations in Epping and Canary Wharf organised by neo-Nazi groups.

It’s incredibly important to protect your identity and use secure methods of organising when you’re taking anti-fascist action, as you face risks not just from the police but from far-right groups.

Far-right groups sometimes “dox” anti-fasicst campaigners, publishing people’s photos and personal details online. Netpol have recieved reports of far-right Youtubers and livestreamers provoking anti-fascist protesters at recent protests and then publishing footage online.

Keeping your identity secure and wearing a mask to protests can help to protect you from this. Netpol has a guide specifically for those taking anti-fascist action on our Security and Solidarity site, alongside other practical advice for campaigners.

Check out our guide, and share the key advice on Instagram, Facebook and Bluesky!
