It’s approaching 2 years now since US spy tech corporation Palantir signed a contract with the UK’s previous Conservative government, to run the NHS Federated Data Platform.
In that time, the evidence of Palantir’s unsuitability has only increased.
In the last month the British Medical Association has warned that the partnership with Palantir “threatens to undermine public trust in NHS data systems” and highlighted a “lack of transparency in how the data will be stored and processed”.
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Palantir’s services are also being used by the Israeli military for “war-related missions” in Gaza – where hospitals have been bombed and tens of thousands of civilians have now been killed.
The Labour Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, didn’t choose Palantir – he inherited that multi-year, multi-million contract. But so far, Wes Streeting has done little to distance himself from the partnership. There are even concerns he could be considering an even bigger role for Palantir in the future.
The Health Secretary needs to hear from the public that concerns about Palantir aren’t going away – in fact, they’re growing. Please can you send him a quick email now, stating your concerns about Palantir and asking him to reconsider its involvement in the NHS?

Palantir’s UK chief, Louis Mosley, appeared before a committee of MPs in parliament earlier last month. Under their questioning, he was combative, and evasive.
When he was asked about the concerns raised by the British Medical Association, he refused to engage with the substance, instead accusing them of having “chosen ideology over patient interest”.
When he was challenged about Palantir’s work with the Israeli military in Gaza, he was similarly dismissive and evasive: “We work in Israel; we are proud of the work we do there…I cannot go into operational details of the way in which our software is used”.
Foxglove has been challenging Palantir’s involvement in the NHS for over 5 years. We’re continuing to raise concerns, including the risk of the company getting an even bigger role in plans for an expanded NHS app and “single patient record”. We are also monitoring the way Palantir is digging its tentacles into UK public services beyond the NHS – including the Ministry of Defence, police forces, and local government. We’ll provide further updates about that soon.
But today, please could you email Wes Streeting and remind him of our concerns about Palantir in the NHS? The more emails he receives, the stronger the message.
