In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Professor Mohammad Marandi discusses how the extreme heat of the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula will be difficult for American forces to handle.
He explains that it is currently May, a transition month, and that temperatures will become extremely high by the end of it, adding that the American armed forces are not prepared for such conditions.
“Their bases are destroyed, and they have brought so many troops and equipment into the region that’s not well protected. So this is not a good time to be an American soldier,”
Professor Marandi said. He also noted that Donald Trump faces a deadline tied to his upcoming meeting with Xi Jinping in China. He explained that if Trump initiates a war now, he would not be able to conclude it before the trip, adding that the visit would likely not go well.
