Dear Friends,
September 21, 2010 is International Day of Peace.
Today is a day to take a moment and reflect on how each of us can make a contribution toward peace.
In just twelve short weeks the US TO GAZA campaign has galvanized people throughout this country and the world in a great civil society effort to send a U.S.-flagged ship, THE AUDACITY OF HOPE, as part of the next Freedom Flotilla sailing to break the illegal Israeli naval-blockade of Gaza. In record time we have raised just over $235,000 toward our goal of $370,000. We still need to raise the remaining $135,000 before the campaign can turn full attention to the the next phase of the effort, the passenger application process and securing a boat.
Today is a meaningful day to join this effort for peace and justice and security, for the people of Palestine, as well as for people throughout the world, by taking a stand against illegal military occupations and abuse of power. Please be part of THE AUDACITY OF HOPE and take a stand in support of international law and human rights.
Through your pledge of support to ustogaza.org you will help send THE AUDACITY OF HOPE to Gaza. Once again, we will show that ordinary people can join forces, and, through a determined effort to do what is right in the face of grave injustice, contribute to achieving a just peace.
Please make a generous contribution today for freedom and justice.
Thanks!
For peace,
US TO GAZA
