UK: Take action for public rail!

7 August 2014

The Tories are scared. Publicly owned East Coast has made over £1bn profit for the taxpayer – showing that public trains can be efficient and effective. They’re now trying to sell it off before more people notice.

Which is why we need to ramp up the pressure for public rail.

Join us August 19th to make sure our voices are heard when rail fares are hiked up once again without any accountability! Since 2008, fares have risen four times faster than average wages and services in private hands aren’t getting any better. Enough is enough! Join others at stations across the UK or organise your own action.

We will be teaming up with other rail campaigners for a national day of action against rail fare hikes and for public ownership. See here for info and reply to this email or ring us in the office for a chat about the day of action.

Best wishes,

The Compass Team
