Merkel Is Erasing May 9, 1945 from the National Memory

14.03.2015 | 12:06 | Dmitriy SEDOV

…For the Russian people, the German chancellor’s refusal to attend the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow is a very serious sign that soon Germans might refuse to acknowledge the victory over Nazism. Germany’s political ranks are shifting to a new plane of political existence. The Germans are implanting a prosthetic, artificial memory, with which they can begin to revive the plans for building a «new order» in Europe.

The Raiding of Ukraine’s Gold

14.03.2015 | 00:00 | Valentin KATASONOV

…The falsification of gold reserve statistics began in the 1990s and was designed to conceal illegal gold transactions which involved, among others, the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Falsified statistics allow the theft of gold from the reserves of central banks and treasuries and its relocation to the vaults of the largest private funds and banks to be covered up… There is speculation that this is what has been done with Ukraine’s gold reserves…

Tragedy of Iraq (II)

13.03.2015 | 00:00 | Anton VESELOV

…The Islamic State does its best to expand the battle area to other parts of the Middle East. They have attacked a Saudi border guard force, they threaten Jordan and try to get to US military facilities in Iraq. They have attacked air bases in Tikrit and Balad (2014), Ain al-Asad and Habbanii (2015) – the facilities with US military presence. The mission is to cause casualties among Americans and make them have boots on the ground. Shiites have let their stance known – in case of US ground forces intervention they will turn their weapons against Americans to change the correlation of forces…

NATO’s Shadow of Nazi Operation Barbarossa

13.03.2015 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

NATO’s Operation Atlantic Resolve paced ahead this week with the latest arrival of more US military forces in the Baltic region. Under the guise of defending eastern Europe from «Russian aggression», more than 100 Abrams tanks and Bradley armoured personnel carriers rolled into Latvia. Last month, a similar motorised display of military support was deployed in Estonia – in the town of Narva – with American flags flown by the US Army’s Second Calvary Regiment just 300 metres from the Russian border…

Tragedy of Iraq (I)

12.03.2015 | 00:00 | Anton VESELOV

Iraq has gone through real hardships in recent years. There were times when the country claimed to be the regional leader but the foreign intervention set it many years back. The events of 2014 put into question the very existence of Iraq as a state… Actually the country has become divided. It’s extremely hard to piece it together again. There are influential forces that go to any length to prevent the unification process…

Could the US Be Mongolia’s Only ‘Third Neighbour’?

12.03.2015 | 00:00 | Vladislav GULEVICH

In many ways, Mongolia’s role in international relations and the global economy is determined by its location in the heart of Asia, the country’s impressive mineral reserves (copper, coal, molybdenum, tin, tungsten and gold), its common border with two Euroasian giants – Russia and China, and the fact that Mongolia is a natural transport link in the construction of overland routes between Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region as alternatives to the sea route through the Suez Canal…

Obama’s Iran Policy Close to Failure

11.03.2015 | 00:00 | Nikolai BOBKIN

The next round of talks on Iran’s nuclear program is scheduled on March 15-20 with final agreement to be reached till March 24. This is a very dubious prospect… French President Francois Hollande openly says France does not approve the unilateral concessions that, to his mind, Washington is ready to make. According to Hollande, the number of centrifuges to be used by Iran for uranium enrichment under the US version of the agreement is «unacceptable»… The ten-year long effort may end up in deadlock…

Saving World Heritage – the West’s New R2P Pretext

11.03.2015 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

Is the defence of world heritage sites in Iraq the new «responsibility to protect» doctrine to justify Western intervention in the geo-strategically important region? The timing coincides with renewed admonitions from the United States and Saudi Arabia for a coalition of ground forces to defeat the Islamic State network in Iraq and Syria – and just when Iraqi and Syrian forces appear to be decisively pushing back the extremists in both countries…

World Public Debt – Main Destabilizer of Global Economy

10.03.2015 | 00:00 | Valentin KATASONOV

Winding up the discussions launched by the articles A Panorama of Global Debt and Global Debt: The Tip and the Bulk of the Iceberg, it’s important to focus on the conclusions offered by the authors of McKinsey consulting company’s report. They say that the world public debt has become the main factor to cause the destabilization of global financial and economic situation. It’s necessary to look for ways to slow down the debt growth, if not reduce it. The first wave of world crisis was mainly provoked by fast growth of financial sector, corporative and household debt. The second wave will probably be caused by the increase of national debts.

FIVE EYES Neo-colonialism in the Pacific Region

10.03.2015 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

The recent revelations from the documents provided by National Security Agency (NSA) whistleblower Edward Snowden that the NSA’s two Pacific partners, the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) conduct wholesale eavesdropping on the communications of the island nations of the Pacific may not be “news” but the reaction to the surveillance by regional leaders points to the neo-colonialism practiced by the NSA’s FIVE EYES intelligence partners…

Netanyahu Attacks Iran in US Congress: Deceitful Show

09.03.2015 | 18:58 | Nikolai BOBKIN

…Before getting on the plane for Washington, Mr. Netanyahu described his trip as a «fateful and even historic mission». According to him, his dramatic address to the U.S. Congress at what he said was a «fateful» crossroads of history». In his first address to Congress in 1996, he warned that an atomic Iran would «presage catastrophic consequences, not only for my country, and not only for the Middle East, but for all mankind». Little has changed since those days.

Berlin Rumbles Washington’s Hidden War Agenda

09.03.2015 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

Washington’s reckless attempts to scuttle the shaky ceasefire in Ukraine are unnerving Germany. The German government feels, with good reason, that the Americans are trying to undermine its recent efforts to mediate a political solution to the nearly year-old conflict, which has caused at least 6,000 deaths and up to one million refugees. Not only that but the violence between the ultranationalist regime in Kiev and the pro-Russian separatists in the east is threatening to spillover into a wider war that could involve Russia and the rest of Europe…

Ukraine and UNSC: Spread of Total Lies

09.03.2015 | 00:00 | Alexander MEZYAEV

The March 6 session of the United Nations Security Council devoted to Ukraine shows that the information war against Russia is in full swing. The weapon used by Russia’s adversaries is total lie. The Ukraine’s media outlets inform that the Russian troops continue to advance attacking Ukrainian security forces. Residential areas and state buildings come under sporadic shelling…

Why Can’t the Islamic State Be Eradicated?

08.03.2015 | 00:00 | Pavel URINTSEV

In the 13-odd years since the US declared a «global war on terror» and invaded Afghanistan in its name, terrorism in the world has not diminished. It has grown. Terrorist organisations have started to appear, disappear, and then reappear with a never-before-seen regularity… Al-Qaeda was replaced by the Islamic State (IS), the international community was quickly presented with a new enemy of global significance, and America once again hurried to present itself as the saviour of mankind: on 11 September 2014, Barack Obama declared war on the Islamic State…
