All the proposals to mark the Victory Day in any other place but the capital of the Soviet Union/Russia – the leading victorious power in the main war of the 20th century – look like an absurdity contest… It’s always dangerous to mix things up – something being done by those who have started the discourse imposing lies about the «Russian aggression» before the celebration of the victory over fascist Germany. It will inevitably backlash against Europe. It knows what it is to foster Nazism. It did it once.

Kiev Tramples on Minsk Agreements

Kiev refused to comply with the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed on February 12, 2015 and Resolution 2202 (February 17, 2015) of the United Nations Security Council which calls on the parties to implement the accords aimed at peaceful settlement in Eastern Ukraine… Ukraine relies on the United States support. In a one fell swoop the Ukrainian authorities made null and void the success achieved at the talks held in Minsk. All the peacekeeping efforts applied by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande went down the drain. I wonder what the heads of two leading European states are going to say now?

Liberation of Poland: the Man who Saved Krakow

Krakow, the ancient capital of Poland, has recently celebrated the 70th anniversary of the city’s liberation from fascist Germany. The festivities devoted to the date included city excursions and seminars organized by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Experts on local history and museum staff tried to shy away from comments… The city museum of history adopted a derisive attitude naming an exhibition «Liberation or Subjugation?».. This is a brazen lie. The ancient Polish city avoided the devastation thanks to two people. Ivan Konev, the Marshal of the Soviet Union, gave an order not to use heavy artillery to avoid damage during the battle to liberate Krakow… There is another person the city owes its very existence to. His name is not mentioned in Krakow at all…

US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Lausanne, Switzerland, on March 15 to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif as part of continuing talks on Tehran’s nuclear program. What stance will Iran take in its dialogue with the US government which is losing trust?
