1. Forthcoming stalls: Confronting a World at War & Cally Festival
Housmans will be having a stall at the following events:

2. London’s Burning: a celebration of radical London, past and present
For this year’s London’s Burning season we’ve a wonderful line up of speakers, looking at subjects from gentrification, lost voices of asylum seekers, the mayorship, London at night, and a tour of the breadth of London’s rebellious past. There will also be a special event celebrating Housmans name-sake, Laurence Housman, on his 150th birthday. Full details in the in-store events listing below, and also on our website.

3. Zine Zone at Housmans
Housmans has a great selection of zines and other DIY publications. We always welcome more stock, so if you have a zine you’d like us to stock please bring it in, or email jim@housmans.com for more info on terms.

Funny, moving and thoughtful exploration of what it means to be normal in today’s society, by comedian Francesca Martinez.

Thursday 9th July 
Open Veins of Latin America by Eduardo Galeano
First published in 1971, Galeano’s classic text chronicles five centuries of ‘the pillage of a continent’.

Thursday 13th August 
News From Nowhere by William Morris
Probably the best-known prose work by William Morris, this 1890 novel describes the encounter between a visitor from the nineteenth century, William Guest, and a decentralized and humane socialist future.

15. London Pacifism and Nonviolence Discussion Group
Housmans has a regular Pacifism and Nonviolence Discussion Group, who meet on the second Tuesday of the month. All are welcome, but please be prepared to join in the discussion. Please try to turn up by 7pm sharp. 

On Tuesday 9 June we’re looking at NONVIOLENCE AND NUCLEAR POWER, and NONVIOLENCE AND CINEMA on 14 July.
