Israel’s systematic targeting of Lebanese medical teams and civilian infrastructure has reached a new level of depravity as documented by several United Nations agencies. Since the onset of the March 2026 escalation, Israeli forces have executed a deliberate “double tap” strategy against first responders, murdering at least 100 healthcare workers and wounding hundreds more. UN experts highlight that these are not accidental strikes but part of a calculated Israeli playbook designed to dismantle the foundations of Lebanese society.

International observers have labeled the widespread destruction of Lebanese homes and neighborhoods as “domicide,” a tactic aimed at making southern Lebanon and parts of Beirut entirely uninhabitable for their indigenous populations. The UN Human Rights Office reports that over 1.2 million people have been forcibly displaced under the threat of indiscriminate shelling and illegal blanket evacuation orders. This strategy of collective punishment was most visible during the 8 April onslaught where Israeli forces struck over 150 locations in a single ten minute window, killing over 300 people.
