It’s been a turbulent couple of weeks in British politics! In the wake of the local election results we have seen a number of senior ministers resigning from the Labour government, and that included the Health Secretary Wes Streeting. Just a few weeks ago we sat in his office, urging him to do more to protect patients and the NHS and presenting him with a list of 10 demands for change.
In his resignation letter, he claimed Labour has “delivered” on the NHS. Yet patients are still dying in ambulances and hospital corridors. Health workers are still burning out and leaving. All while the companies exploiting our health service rake in record profits. Now, we have a new Health Secretary – James Murray. It’s vital that he charts a different course to his predecessor. NHS patients and staff need a Health Secretary who serves our interests, not corporate interests. Just Treatment Patient Leaders have written to James Murray asking that he honours his predecessor’s commitment to respond to our 10 demands. Click to read the full letter we’ve sent to him. |

The time for excuses and delay is over. The changes that NHS patients and health workers are crying out for cannot wait. We urgently need the government to deliver lifesaving investment into the NHS and social care – this is vital if they really want to see an end to national crises such as corridor care. To hear more about the solutions that are needed to protect patients and get the NHS properly back on its feet, join our SOS NHS webinar on corridor care next Wednesday 27th May at 7pm! |

Thanks and more soon, Hope at Just Treatment P.S: A massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far to our legal crowdfunder, as we prepare to take the government to court to protect NHS patients from big pharma profiteering. In just a few days, we have already hit our first fundraising milestone, which is amazing! But we’ve still got a big fight ahead and much more to raise. We’ll be sharing a case update with you all very soon ✊ |
