Yuri BARANCHIK: Why Does the US Elite Need Obama?

“Everyone knows that when a customer does not go to a brothel, girls – not beds are replaced. But replacing ‘girls’ should not affect our attitude to a brothel as an institution.”

The outcomes of November 4, 2008 US presidential elections gave ample proof that the not so-long period of ‘a single-polar world’ fuzzily outlined on the horizon due to the disappearance of a second superpower was over. So having realised that clearly, the US establishment made necessary conclusions.

Electing Obama as an ‘anti-Bush’ character is a sign that the US elite is aware of the fact that neither the US economy nor its political system are no longer efficient tools of continuing the domestic and external policies course that Washington pursued in the past 8 years.

It would only be logical to ask the following question: Is George W.Bush a lone wolf who has succeeded in fine-tuning the entire American elite to fit his primitive messianism? The definite answer is ‘No’.

His surfacing on the US political scene was due to the situation whereby after Bill Clinton’s era that coincided with Russia’s weakening, when the US elite concluded that it could ‘grab’ all the money at stake fast. In an attempt to make this deal a segment of the US establishment that jumped on the bandwagon of ‘neo-conservatism’ as a new ideology was acknowledged the most fitting US strategic goal at the beginning of a new century.

George W. Bush the man whose primitive black-and-white world outlook was put to the fore best met the requirements of the US superiority (the one that is not one of us is against us) to be reached as fast as possible.

After the strategic issues (course and leader) were solved the only thing to do was to find a strategy of a ‘new course’ to ensure the accelerated ultimate re-shaping of the world. The issue was settled quite fast – September 11, 2001 actually gave the US elite a carte blanch to review the world’ political map.

Of course George Bush was to become the ‘culprit’ of the aborted final crusade. We should be aware that Bush, ‘the last pawn’ that broke up the entire US establishment failing to implement the foreign policy goals it planned to achieve. It can be said that Obama did not win MacCain who did not have enough ‘drive’, health, youthfulness and energy to win the election campaign as George W.Bush had in his time.

Obama’s arrival to the White House signifies other things than just a change of the course the US elite intends to pursue to achieve its goals, but rather making alterations in methods of achieving them. The straight attack Bush and the ‘neo-cons’ made died out, and at present we witness a transfer to position attacking under the mask of ‘Obama smiles.’ However, there stands behind him the same group we knew in the days of Carter, Reagan and Clinton.

Everybody realises the situation the United States is now in after 8 years under the Bush administration. The country’s economy is exhausted living in credit when there are very few products are manufactured, and the major economy area is services. Such an economy can only survive if a) other countries credit America and b) colonial; tax is levied by the United Sates from the rest of the world in the form of a dollar pyramid.

The US political influence in the last 8 years dramatically decreased, and the United States is no longer viewed as the most advanced world’s democracy.

What could American elite afford under the current conditions? To continue pursuing its previous course? Apparenty no.

The ‘Georgian jaw’ that Russia broke showed to the world that the world is not what it was in the 1990s. So that avoid losing what the US gained in the 4 years of the Vietnam war with MacCain who dreamt to avenge Russia for his captivity in Vietnam, the US elite is now forced to retreat and regroup itself, putting to the fore a guy who can smile a lot and is good a negotiator. So they found a non-entity provincial US politician of the 10th political echelon, Barack Obama, who was to crush all the ‘bad myths’ about America, including those meant to be used in the United States. It was not accidental that after his election sales of arms have dramatically grown.

Voting in of a black man should demonstrate that US democracy, national and racial equality in the United States are as strong as never before. Does the US and the world long for changes? – Here you are, Mr.Obama. Does the world need to see a friendlier and more balanced America? Here you are, Mr.Obama. The main thing so far is to shift the responsibility for the financial policies of the last decade that aimed at filling the US military and industrial complex with money from the rest of the world and to present things as something other than the US financial and economic crisis but a crisis of the world’s hard-currency and financial system.

Under the circumstances the strategic concept of the US establishment that has shown itself in the election of Barack Obama means just one thing –to put forward their own black president for all the world to see so that they would watch the waves he raises, and when the public eye is diverted to him the way it has been diverted to watch Sarkozy’s wife, a stage-by-stage regrouping of force and the licking up of the wound as well as the working out of new methods of achieving – we’d stress – the former strategic goals – can be started.

After the Obama administration has completed its ‘homework’ in the first two years, the global elite will decide on the future of Osama, in terms of allowing him to stay at power for a second stint or to give Americans a new ‘carte blanche’. Quite a few analysts are correct to state that unless Obama realises his ‘historic mission’ of the ‘global Bruni’ he might be discarded along the lines of the Kennedy scenario earlier than he can think of it.

Well, what can be said about potential, and chiefly adequate responses of other force centres?

Here’s no need to give into provocations, thinking that the US has changed, as ‘Mr. Wolf’s legs feed him’. If he needs to lick up its wounds – they are his problems. So there must not be any time to breathe. There must be pressure and pressure again. Obama’s smiles and urbanity should not deceive anyone.

It can be presumed that Moscow planned its friendly sign to the next US president in the form of missiles in the Kaliningrad region as an answer to the US anti-missile shield in Eastern Europe a long time ago and without good reason. It gives reason to hope that the Russian leadership has a correct view of the situation in the camp of its principal strategic partner (as well as its principal geopolitical adversary).

Everyone knows that when a customer does not go to a brothel, girls – not beds are replaced. But replacing ‘girls’ should not affect our attitude to a brothel as an institution.
