Most definitely, the first person you imagine after learning that Mrs. Clinton is now heading the US State Department, is her husband Bill, a man playing the sax, the same saxophone – as he admitted in court – that a White House intern named Monica Lewinsky would play quite often in her day.
It appears so easy to picture Hillary’s meeting with one of the politicians she has not yet known; would they not think: ‘That’s what you are, Monica – excuse me, Hillary…’
The second thing that might immediately spring up in your mind is that the pre-election PR show code-named ‘Barack Obama’ staged by the Democratic party, is over now given how good Barack was playing his part of a cover of a second arrival to power of the old team of Democrats that ruled America in 1992-2000.
The confirmation of this appointment is the best indication of the degree of freedom Barack Obama might enjoy as both a politician and president. This degree is nil (at least at present).
Therefore, for the time being (if not for good) Barack the politician and president can be rest in oblivion. There is Biden, the Clintons clan, and the Wall Street financial lobby. They are the real people the would-be negotiators with the United States would have to deal with. Obama, a US-style political prodigy would sign anything those who surround him would table before him. Even George W. Bush was a more independent ‘president’ than his successor.
Hence, it is easy to understand the role and position of the 44th US president in history: he is designed exclusively for domestic use by an ordinary US citizen. And that’s his supreme political function. Americans believe Obama, therefore someone needs to know this for some reason.
In other words, someone is already preparing a frame-up for Obama. Should any catastrophe happen in the United States or elsewhere, would anyone blame it all on Biden or Mrs. Clinton? A ridiculous question, right? Obama will be to blame for everything. Given Hillary Clinton’s appointment expert forecasts that Obama can be used by the US elite for achieving certain goals to be later written off as political deadwood are becoming to appear more and more probable.
What is there to add?
Indeed Hillary has got her job as a formal second-big figure (the biggest one in reality) in the US political establishment. However, there is just one ‘but.’ Mrs. Clinton’s arrival to power is aggravated by two very bad psychological factors of her personal life. We have mentioned the first one (her husband Bill and his world-renowned saxophone). The second factor is her defeat in the presidential race with Obama.
Therefore Hillary would use every move and gesture as State Secretary to try to convince everyone that she is no worse, but rather firmer, stronger, wiser, etc than the young Afro- American who outperformed her, and who is already beginning to drop hints about the real balance of forces in his team.
(): Obama has been quoted as saying that vice-president Biden and himself shaped the new economic team with an eye at stabilising the US Economy, creating new jobs and putting America back onto its development tracks.
Commentators are correct to stress that pointing at vice-presidents is a rare thing for the United States. But the formula ‘vice-president and I’ sounds surprisingly fresh, even as you begin to realise who is who, for example, in the George W. Bush – Dick Cheney tandem.
It might appear a psychological subtlety. Nevertheless, it might produce major global problems.
Hillary Clinton would have to make attempts to prove her might to everyone every day. In a real management situation this can be achieved in one way only: by proposing more aggressive schemes of US foreign policies than those of her boss. This would be the only way for her to avoid Obama’s gradually stripping her of her power. Should she come up with some other behavioural scenario, than one day after a routine meeting men would gather in a smoking room to make fun of another Hillary’s clanger , saying :’ It appears that in the end Obama is wiser than this… woman.’ And that would finally strip Hillary of her political clout.
Quite evidently, she realises the danger of such a turn of events better than anybody else, so she would make her best to prevent things from going this way. And the only thing she can do to avoid it is to opt for the most radical and aggressive position of all.
What it boils down to is Hillary Clinton’s appointment as Secretary of State of the superpower-twisted United States evidently makes the world a much less safe place. The logic of her behaviour would be oriented towards making a conflict and keeping it hot. That would be the only way for her to convince the world that she is worth her salt, and that she is stronger than the statesmen around her,
Making attempts to prove her competence as the head of US diplomacy, Hillary Clinton would bide her time waiting for a moment when there would appear an opening for her to show the world something greater: that she can be a much better US president than Barack Obama. What she would need for that? As they say, take three wild guesses.
