The kidnapping of Haiti By John Pilger

28 January 2010 — John Pilger

[A timely reminder with this excellent essay by John Pilger from 2010. WB]

The theft of Haiti has been swift and crude. On 22 January, the United States secured “formal approval” from the United Nations to take over all air and sea ports in Haiti, and to “secure” roads. No Haitian signed the agreement, which has no basis in law. Power rules in a US naval blockade and the arrival of 13,000 marines, special forces, spooks and mercenaries, none with humanitarian relief training.

A Non-Hack That Raised Hillary’s Hackles By Ray McGovern

25 July 2019 — Consortium News

Three years ago Monday WikiLeaks published a trove of highly embarrassing emails that had been leaked from inside the Democratic National Committee. As has been the case with every leak revealed by WikiLeaks, the emails were authentic. These particular ones, however, could not have come at a worse time for top Democratic Party officials.

Who is Peter Comey and Why it Matters By F. William Engdahl

10 December 2018 — NEO

On December 7 after weeks of legal resistance, former FBI Director James Comey was forced to appear at a closed-door hearing convened by Republicans in the House of Representatives. The hearing was called to investigate political bias by Comey and other officials against then-candidate Donald Trump. In the last days the focus has begun to shift to the surprise of many to the Democratic Party DNC, to Hillary Clinton and James Comey.

The Utility of the RussiaGate Conspiracy By Alan MacLeod

27 July 2018 — FAIR Independent: Survey finds Hillary Clinton has ‘more than 99% chance’ of winning election over Donald Trump

The election of Donald Trump came as a shock to many (Independent, 11/5/16).

To the shock of many, Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential elections, becoming the 45th president of the United States. Not least shocked were corporate media, and the political establishment more generally; the Princeton Election Consortium confidently predicted an over 99 percent chance of a Clinton victory, while MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (10/17/16) said it could be a “Goldwater-style landslide.”

Donald Trump was Elected by Russia? Mass Dementia in the Western Establishment By Diana Johnstone

19 July 2018 — Global Research

Mainstream Media Reaction to Trump-Putin Meeting

Where to begin to analyze the madness of mainstream media in reaction to the Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki?  By focusing on the individual, psychology has neglected the problem of mass insanity, which has now overwhelmed the United States establishment, its mass media and most of its copycat European subsidiaries. The individuals may be sane, but as a herd they are ready to leap off the cliff.

Donna Brazile Confesses that DNC Rigged Primaries By Michael Sainato

2 November 2017 — TRNN

Former DNC Interim Chair Donna Brazile confirms money laundering scheme between the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign

Donna Brazile Confesses that DNC Rigged Primaries

On November 2, Donna Brazile published an excerpt from her upcoming book, “Hacks,” in Politico. In the passage, Brazile outlines how she first discovered the joint fundraising agreement between Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the DNC that created the Hillary Victory Fund. The agreement is the most overt evidence that the DNC rigged the 2016 Democratic Primaries for Hillary Clinton. Essentially, Brazile claims that the fund was used to launder money to the Clinton Campaign, and in exchange the DNC received  help in clearing out its debt. The catch was that former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the entire apparatus of the DNC was at the control of the Clinton Campaign, serving as an extension of it under the false pretense of neutrality.

Clinton, Assange and the war on truth By John Pilger

23 October 2017 — John Pilger

On 16 October, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation aired an interview with Hillary Clinton: one of many to promote her score-settling book about why she was not elected President of the United States.

Wading through the Clinton book, What Happened, is an unpleasant experience, like a stomach upset. Smears and tears. Threats and enemies. “They” (voters) were brainwashed and herded against her by the odious Donald Trump in cahoots with sinister Slavs sent from the great darkness known as Russia, assisted by an Australian “nihilist”, Julian Assange.

This week the issue is not Trump. It is ourselves By John Pilger

17 January 2017 — John Pilger

On the day President Trump is inaugurated, thousands of writers in the United States will express their indignation. “In order for us to heal and move forward…”, say Writers Resist, “we wish to bypass direct political discourse, in favour of an inspired focus on the future, and how we, as writers, can be a unifying force for the protection of democracy.”

And: “We urge local organizers and speakers to avoid using the names of politicians or adopting ‘anti’ language as the focus for their Writers Resist event. It’s important to ensure that nonprofit organizations, which are prohibited from political campaigning, will feel confident participating in and sponsoring these events.”

Thus, real protest is to be avoided, for it is not tax exempt.

Constitutional Crisis, Movement to Undermine President-elect Donald Trump’s Accession to the White House? By Prof Michel Chossudovsky

10 December 2016 — Global Research

trump protestAuthor’s note: This article does not constitute an endorsement of Donald Trump. Quite the opposite.  The focus is on an unfolding constitutional crisis.

While Trump has put together a right wing cabinet of “reactionaries” which largely conforms to the mainstay of the Republican Party, the bi-partisan “entente cordiale” is in crisis. The powerful corporate interests which supported the Clinton candidacy remain intent upon undermining Trump’s accession to the White House.
