Yair Lapid: The New Star on the Israeli Political Scene
02.02.2013 | 00:00 | Dmitry MININ
The main surprise of Israel’s latest elections for the19th Knesset was the Yesh Atid party («There is a future»), established less than a year ago it came in second with 19 seats, and is led by 49-year-old Yair Lapid. Some (political opponents) predict it will soon collapse, others (supporters) unquestionably see him as a future leader of the country, still others view Lapid as a product of political technologies grown overseas and grafted onto Israeli soil, similar to the leaders of the «color revolutions» in Eastern Europe, but more subtly so: «no protruding ears» or visible external shocks…

01.02.2013 | 00:00 | Pyotr ISKENDEROV
The fund created by the European Union to «support democracy» in third world countries and neighboring countries continues to overgrow with new eloquent details. According to the European Commission, the European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is designed to provide cash grants to journalists, bloggers, nonprofit organizations, trade unions, political organizations, including those working in exile. It talks about supporting the opposition in Algeria, Armenia, Palestine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Moldova, Syria and Ukraine…
Hugo Chavez’ Illness and Dirty Tricks
31.01.2013 | 00:00 | Nil NIKANDROV
President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez has been diagnosed with cancer. No matter the official reports on his state of health have been becoming more optimistic with each passing day, the hostile propaganda juggernaut is getting into full swing at global scale saying the President is «incapable» to carry out his functions. It’s easy to guess which US agencies are behind the necrophilic activities: the State Department, the CIA, psycho-political operations services. Media, non-governmental organizations, various intelligence agents tasked to spread influence – all are involved in the «Kill Chavez» operation…

31.01.2013 | 00:00 | Andrey FOMIN
On January 22 a telling leak cropped up in the Internet. British defense contractor’s BRITAM server was hacked and megabytes of classified internal files of the firm were released to the public. Now the case is acquiring a Britamgate scale due to the publication on Prison Planet. What is the story behind the leakage? Why this scandal is likely to turn around the situation in Syria?..
Iraq: Crisis After Crisis, or Stable Instability
30.01.2013 | 00:00 | Anton VESELOV
A new round of escalating tension amid political stand-off marked the new year in Iraq… The situation exploded on January 25, when millions of Muslims gathered for Friday prayer. It’s hard to say what exactly the mullahs in the Fallujah mosques were saying but the people clashed with army servicemen. It went on for a few hours, after lunchtime the city saw mobile groups of armed men who opened fire against the military. The daily death toll was three servicemen and five civilians, over 80 people were wounded… The Iraqi parliament is actually paralyzed, the government is plunged in scandals, armed violence is one of the highest in the world, the desire for changes is rapidly spreading around in the Iraqi society…
The Israeli elections: king Bibi lost
30.01.2013 | 00:00 | Dmitry MININ
Early parliamentary elections in Israel brought about significant changes in the balance of political power in the country, bringing to it new, largely unexpected elements. On the eve of the elections everyone predicted a landslide victory for the current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the forces allied with him, but the triumph did not materialize… Netanyahu’s first fear is the «Yesh Atid» party led by the new star of the Israeli political scene, the charismatic and photogenic Yair Lapid…
Big Brother Takes over from Uncle Sam: A Single Intelligence Network for a New World Order
29.01.2013 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN
While budgets are being slashed by governments around the world, national intelligence agencies are not only flush with money but they are increasingly networking their resources against the «threat». What is the threat? It is whatever national leaders and their governments deem it to be. One day it is «Al Qaeda», the next day it is Iran, then North Korea, then global narco-terrorists, and so on and so on…
Serbia: NATO’s Uranium Embrace
29.01.2013 | 00:00 | Anna FILIMONOVA
As is known, the warheads of munitions used by NATO for bombing Yugoslavia in 1999 contained depleted uranium… Totally NATO used 15 tons of depleted uranium to strike targets in Yugoslavia. It was all converted into radioactive dust picked up by the wind and spread around the Balkans contaminating soil, air, plants and animals. The dust is to last forever, the radioactivity will reach its highest level after 100 years…
A US – China entente over Afghanistan
28.01.2013 | 00:00 | Melkulangara BHADRAKUMAR
The involvement of China in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO]’s decade-long war on terror in Afghanistan has been virtually nil. This was so despite the western alliance’s repeated urgings on Beijing to be an active participant. Beijing did not even respond to the US’s demarche to open the Wakhan Corridor as a transit route for supplying the NATO troops in Afghanistan…
Ecuador and US Fake Peacefulness
28.01.2013 | 00:00 | Nil NIKANDROV
…Washington surreptitiously spreads around the idea of the Ecuadorian President being unacceptable. Let it be anyone else but not him! The State Department and special services Correa as a probable political and ideological successor of Venezuelan President Chavez on the continent… Ambassador Namm and his team of provocateurs may be in the midst of events. Domingo Paredes has not called the names of those who are behind the attempted subversive actions aimed at frustration of the elections. But Ecuador is not kind of a puppet on a string. Namm should be ready for unexpected turn of events.
The Pacific Ocean: The Pentagon Next «Human Terrain» Battlefield
27.01.2013 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN
The Pentagon planners and their paid anthropologist shills are gearing up for the Pentagon’s next battle: the one for the Pacific that will ensure that the island nations that dot the vast maritime expanse will remain a part of the Anglo-American sphere of influence and not become part of a «Chinese lake»… USAID / CIA/Special Operations projects with names like Phoenix, Prosyms, Sympatico, and Camelot used anthropologists and social scientists to reconnoiter targeted tribal areas in South Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, Colombia, and Chile to determine how U.S. Special Forces and intelligence agents could use indigenous peoples to further American military goals. The operations in the cases of Phoenix in South Vietnam and Prosyms in Indonesia resulted in genocide on a massive scale…
