Can Israel Win in Gaza?

26.07.2014 | 00:00 | Dmitry MININ

Gaza Strip has been bleeding for already 50 years. Palestinian leaders change, the Israeli governments come and go, but the process never stops. This small chunk of land with the population of one and a half million people never leaves completely the world radar screen. It always follows the same kind of vicious circle. Sometimes the reports come saying Tel Aviv has finally decided to settle the Gaza problem. Normally such news are followed by new victims and damage inflicted by Israel and it all turns back to where it was. That’s what is happening this time too. No operation Solid Rock, as they call it, launched against Palestinians can stand in Gaza where there is no solid ground for a rock to stand on. Israel will report about delivering a shattering blow against terrorists, while Palestinians will mourn their next of kin and start to brace up for next fight…

Libyan BUK Missile Unit May Have Been Used by AQIM to Down Algerian Passenger Plane

26.07.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

After the U.S.-supported ouster of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi in 2011, Libyan jihadist rebels swarmed through Libyan army weapons depots and helped themselves to Soviet-made portable shoulder-launched missiles and launchers, BUK missile batteries capable of bringing down aircraft flying over 30,000 feet, and other military equipment, including mortars and rocket-propelled grenades. Some of the Libyan equipment ended up in the hands of Saharan-based insurgent groups such as Al Qaeda in the Maghreb (AQIM) and the Mali-based Ansar Dine. There is a real possibility that anti-aircraft weapons that fell into the hands of U.S.-supported Libyan guerrillas and were subsequently transferred to Saharan-based rebels were used to attack Air Algerie 5017…

US Intelligence on Malaysian Flight MH17: Russia Didn’t Do It. “US Satellite Photos do not Support Obama’s Lies”

25.07.2014 | 09:59 | EDITOR’S CHOICE

After days of placing hostile blame for the downing of the Malaysian airliner on Russia, the White House permitted US intelligence officials to tell reporters that there is no evidence of the Russian government’s involvement.  Obviously, the US satellite photos do not support the Obama regime’s lies. If the White House had any evidence of Russian complicity, it would have released it to great fanfare days ago.

Thank You, Malaysia!

25.07.2014 | 09:54 | Victor SUMSKY

Early on July 22 the two black boxes from the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 were handed over by Alexander Boroday, Prime Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) to Colonel Mohamed Sakri of Malaysian National Security Council… The world watched on TV how an official of the state that had suffered most as a result of the MH17 tragedy personally thanked for cooperation «Mr. Boroday» and his people who are called «pro-Russian terrorists» by Kiev and the West… This episode is hardly supporting the myth about the «terrorists» who shot down the civilian airliner… On TV, the DPR Prime Minister and the members of his team looked like a group of reasonable people in control of themselves – unlike Ukrainian parliamentarians who literally fight each other in the session hall and can never agree on anything. If the «terrorists» were just doing what Moscow told them to do, then, perhaps, the advice was not so bad. If not, then shall we view the DPR as an independent and responsible actor in international affairs?..

Boeing Disaster: Washington’s Lies and Kiev’s Silence

25.07.2014 | 00:00 | Boris NOVOSELTSEV

On July 21 the Russian Ministry of Defense held a briefing and displayed the data to prove the fact that a number of Ukrainian Buk-M1 air defense systems were deployed in the vicinity of Donetsk at the time of Malaysian aircraft disaster. The 9?18 «Kupol» radar activities were especially intensive. It became known that a Ukrainian Su-25 was scrambled to accompany the airliner… Kiev has nothing to say… Washington dodged the discussion… There is only one explanation. The information provided by Russian Ministry of Defense proves that the Ukrainian military could have shot the airliner. Moscow knows Washington has data which testifies to it. Making public the fact that a US satellite with the operational capabilities enabling it to provide the needed imagery was hovering over the place of the crash has driven Washington to the wall…

Azerbaijan – Turkey: Caucasian Prisoner of Asia Minor

25.07.2014 | 00:00 | Vyacheslav MIKHAILOV

The Euro Atlantic and Eurasian integration processes have passed Azerbaijan leaving it on the sidelines. The Azeri call it the policy of «flexible alliances» or keeping at some distance from all other power centers except Turkey… Turkey has no interest in Azerbaijan’s moving to any kind of integration. Turkey wants to be a bridge that Azerbaijan has to cross in order get to the old continent. The Eurasian integration would offer great prospects for Azerbaijan but Turkey is strongly against. It firmly opposes any cooperation of Azerbaijan with Russia or Iran. There are many ways Ankara could use its leverage to impact Baku…

MH17 Disaster and American Hoodlums

24.07.2014 | 13:04 | Boris NOVOSELTSEV

…The European restraint on the Boeing issue and the situation in Ukraine in general is explained by two main reasons. First, Europe resists the US pressure concerning the imposition of anti-Russian sanctions… The second reason is even more important. It is connected with the history of Europe. While the first reaction of US media was the topic of «pro-Russian» terrorists and recalling the Lockerby terrorist act, Europeans remembered the assassination archduke Franz-Ferdinand is Sarajevo which triggered the First World War. It may be hard to understand for America, but Europe does its best to avoid the repetition of tragic stories of the past… From this point of view, Americans and their puppets in Kiev behave like hoodlums running amuck with a stricken match around a warehouse full of dynamite loudly calling on others to join the mad race…

Northwoods and MH-17: False Flags Fly alongside «Old Glory»

24.07.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

…The use of commercial passenger planes as false flag targets of opportunity for U.S. national security and intelligence planners is nothing new. The U.S. National Archives yielded an explosive formerly classified document some five months before the 9/11 attack in 2001. The document, «Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba» outlined for Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara a series of false flag attacks, codenamed OPERATION NORTHWOODS, which would be carried out by the United States on various targets but be blamed on the Fidel Castro government of Cuba… The document states: «World opinion and the United Nations forum should be favorably affected by developing the international image of Cuban government as rash and irresponsible, and as an alarming and unpredictable threat to the peace of the Western Hemisphere». Similar language has been used in the talking points of the U.S., British, Canadian, and other Western governments to describe the self-government authorities in eastern Ukraine and even the Russian government itself…

US ‘Joke’ Intel Belies Knowledge of Real Culprits in Downed Jet

24.07.2014 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

Seriously, is that it? US national intelligence presented its «evidence» this week on the shoot-down of the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine. Anyone waiting to see a «smoking gun» implicating Russia and pro-Russian militia in eastern Ukraine in the disaster should have been left underwhelmed by the supposed American «killer evidence». Less smoking gun and more like one of those circus pistols that pop out a joke flag emblazoned with the word «Bang!»… So, on one hand, Russia is implicated, while on the other hand «there is no direct link»…  It seems incredible that the US does not have any images of what really happened on that horrific Thursday afternoon. Unless of course, the US is deliberately suppressing that information  to suit a preordained narrative, aimed precisely at trying to implicate Russia over the disaster…

Who Killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria?

23.07.2014 | 00:00 | Arkady DZIUBA

The tragedy of passenger aircraft hit over Donetsk resulting in the death toll of 298 is terrible. The fact that it was not just an accident but the purposeful use of force turns the tragedy into a political issue able to change a lot of things related to the Ukraine’s situation in general… Moscow is still waiting for the ten answers concerning the accident that it has addressed to the Kiev government. The questions were prepared by Deputy Minister of Defense Anatoly Antonov and posted on July 19… All told, including the deployment of the Ukrainian Buk air defense systems in the battle area, scrambling two Ukrainian attack planes to accompany the Boeing, the change of route according to the instructions given by Ukrainian controllers – it all makes believe that it’s not just an absurd and tragic accident we’re talking about…

European Killers Enjoy Fascist «Safari» in Ukraine

23.07.2014 | 00:00 | Nikolai MALISHEVSKI

The self-defense forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic reported the elimination of two enemy’s block posts in the area of Donetsk in the first half of July. According to their Minister of Defense Igor Strelkov, one of them was defended by people in NATO combat fatigue who were foreign passport holders.  It’s not only the hired personnel of Western private military contractors who do their job by killing for money. There are also people who go to Ukraine to get pleasure and are ready to pay for it. Stan Patton, soldier of fortune, Blackwater, shares a quotation in his Twitter saying what the prices are: a shot of howitzers – $ 100 from the tank – $ 200, a shot in the village is priced at U.S. $ 350…

What are You Trying to Hide, Mr Obama?

22.07.2014 | 15:04 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

Western leaders and their media would have us believe that Russian-backed terrorists and bandits not only shot down a civilian airliner killing all 298 onboard – but that they have added to their depravity by defiling the dead, kicking around body parts and robbing corpses… Despite Obama’s baseless disparagement of the self-defence militia as being «an insult to the international community», on the same day that he made that announcement the Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was praising the local authorities for having made arrangements to retrieve the bodies and to hand over the vitally important black box recorders from the doomed airliner… Significantly, the Malaysian premier did not make the arrangements through the Kiev regime. He dealt directly with the Donetsk People’s Republic leader Alexander Borodai. The Malaysians disclosed publicly that 282 of the bodies recovered so far were to be transported in refrigerated train carriages to Donetsk and thence to the city of Kharkiv before being flown on to Amsterdam. The flight recorder black boxes were also to be handed over in Donetsk by militia members to an official Malaysian investigative team…

Stepping on the Path of Open Hostility – US to Create New Military Alliance against Russia

22.07.2014 | 00:00 | Andrei AKULOV

The US Congress is doing its part to escalate the tensions with Russia over Ukraine. The Russian Aggression Prevention Act of 2014, which is introduced in Senate, has been read twice and is referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations. It provides major non-NATO ally status for Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova. Actually, the bill provides a blueprint for US intentions in Ukraine and Eastern Europe for the coming years… The bill directs the US Department of Defense to assess the capabilities and needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. It authorizes the President, upon completion of such assessment, to provide specified military assistance to Ukraine» and «Expresses the sense of Congress that the President should: (1) provide Ukraine with information about Russian military and intelligence capabilities on Ukraine’s eastern border and within Ukraine’s territorial borders, including Crimea; and (2) ensure that such intelligence information is protected from further disclosure»…

Forget about Compromises, it’s Capitulation that US Wants from Iran

22.07.2014 | 00:00 | Nikolai BOBKIN

July 20 did not happen to be the date of Iran’s nuclear problem’s final settlement. The Iran’s talks with the «big 6» (5 United Nations Security Council members and Germany) are prolonged till November 24… The break itself does not solve any problems. A year will have passed since the parties adopted in Geneva a joint plan of action to guarantee that the Iranian nuclear program is used only for peaceful purposes in exchange for lifting international sanctions from the Islamic Republic. But the stances may drastically change. The talks may end up without any result… Nothing new in the US foreign policy thinking. If there is a dialogue, then it is conducted from the position of strength, direct dictate and threats. The widely publicized diplomatic efforts of President Obama aimed at putting an end to confrontation with Tehran still pursue the very same goal – it’s nor a compromise that is expected from Tehran, but rather complete capitulation.

Downed Airliner: Fake Audio Tape Shows US-Backed Hit to Frame Russia

21.07.2014 | 10:30 | Finian CUNNINGHAM

In a devastating twist to emerge over the weekend it now seems that the Malaysian civilian airliner downed over Ukraine was most probably brought down as a result of sabotage by the US-backed Kiev regime… The key to this dramatic twist is the identification of incriminating audio tapes over the weekend as fake – tapes that were created initially to implicate Moscow, as part of a massive black operation involving the destruction of the civilian airliner and all those onboard… Over the weekend the accusations against Russia from Western governments and media have steadily grown to a crescendo. In his usual round of Sunday television programmes, US Secretary of State John Kerry went as far as claiming that American intelligence was now certain that Russia had supplied the missile system to the militia in eastern Ukraine…

Will Military Rule Save Ukraine?

21.07.2014 | 00:00 | Dmitry MININ

The events in Ukraine unfold in such a way that many started to express the opinion that the only way to maintain the country as one is to bring to power a tough military regime as soon as possible. Many people believe the economy is going to collapse entailing social unrest. Western financial flows just prolong the default that has actually has taken place… The euphoria after capturing Slavyansk and some other populated areas is evaporating. It starts to be realized it’s not a real victory but rather a serious failure on the part of the leadership responsible for the operation…

MH-17: Beware of the «Chameleon»

21.07.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

The 10-day NATO exercise code named «BREEZE 2014» has ended in Black Sea. The exercise, which included the use of electronic warfare and electronic intelligence aircraft such as the Boeing EA-18G Growler and the Boeing E3 Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), coincided with the shootdown of Malaysian Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine, some 40 miles from the Russian border. NATO ships and aircraft had the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under total radar and electronic surveillance…

Malaysian Boeing Hit Over Ukraine: Kiev Running Amuck or US Style Policy

20.07.2014 | 00:00 | Andrey ARESHEV

…The already available facts related to the tragedy clearly tell that no matter what the results of international inquiry may be, the perpetrators are Kiev rulers. According to international civil aviation organization rules, it was Kiev who had to provide safety guarantees in its airspace (especially as it insists the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions are under its control) and prevent escalation of combat in the air during the so-called anti-terrorist operation. The excessive use of military power against civilians in the east gave rise to intensification of combat actions… the Boing was guided only by Ukrainian controllers based in Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk. As a result the route was changed moving it to the north. The information on the plane’s route change is available in all open sources, something that has never been refused or negated by anybody…

Something is Rotten in the State of Denmark

20.07.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN

NATO charter member Denmark has been a sycophantic ally of the United States for most of the years following the founding of the Western military alliance in 1949. Until 1949, many Danes favored the creation of a neutralist military bloc of Nordic nations that would steer clear of American and Soviet military alliances. This attitude by the Danes irked Washington. A recently declassified Central Intelligence Agency document titled Neutrality and Third Force Tendencies in Western Europe and dated December 19, 1950, bemoaned the presence of neutralists in Denmark…
