NEWS

1. Loyalty cards and events charging

From January 2011 Housmans will be charging for its events. Admittance for each event will be £3, but the cost will be redeemable against any purchase in-store. We hope that sounds like a fair deal.

In line with this we have been thinking about introducing a loyalty card. The offer would be that for £10 a year you receive a loyalty card that allows you to attend all Housmans events free of charge, and receive a 10% discount on all purchases made in-store. If this is something you would be interested in, please email nik[at]housmans.com with ‘loyalty card’ in the subject field, and if there is enough interest we shall introduce this from January.

2. Coalition of Resistance National Organising Conference

As the details of the Con-Dem cuts have been emerging, a mass campaign has been building against the attacks on the welfare state. The Coalition of Resistance is a broad based movement opposing cuts and privatisation, rising unemployment and inequality in Britain.

A national conference of the Coalition of Resistance will take place in London at the Camden Centre on the 27th of November, 2010 to look at alternatives to austerity measures and to plan the fightback for the living standards of the majority. The Coalition is linked to no particular political party, but committed to open working in a non-sectarian way with all organisations seeking to co-ordinate resistance; and is dedicated to supplementing, rather than supplanting, trade union, student, pensioner and community opposition to austerity measures.

To find out more, and to sign up for the conference, e-mail coalitionofresistance@mail.com or look on the website www.coalitionofresistance.org.uk/?p=317

3. Housmans Plastic Bag Free Zone

Housmans has decided to stop providing plastic bags. From now on, if you can bring your own bags for your purchases, we can do our bit to keep London that little bit cleaner and greener.
