NEWS
1. Housmans Peace Diary 2016 & white poppies

Housmans Peace Diary 2016 with World Peace Directory is now available, both in-store and online. Now in its 63rd year of publication!

The feature in the 2016 Peace Diary again takes the First World War as its starting point, looking at the centenary of the introduction of military conscription in Britain, and the world’s first-ever legal recognition of secular conscientious objection – and at 100 years of war resistance since.

For more information and to place an order please visit:

We also have plenty of stock of white poppies – 70p each.

2. NaNoWriMo at Housmans

Ever since 1999 November every year has been National Novel Writing Month, where all kinds of people come together to try to write a 50,000 word novel in just one month for fun.

As a bit of an experiment Housmans will be hosting some write-ins for the brave/foolhardy novellers throughout the month. Meet other NaNoWriMo people, chat for a bit and then take part in the writing sprints.

The first write-ins will be on Wednesday 4th and on Saturday 7th November from 7pm to 9pm with coffee, biscuits and the beginnings of your RSI. The aim will be to have one write in a week from then on.

For more info email jim@housmans.com and visit www.nanowrimo.org
