People’s Assembly: We must support the Junior Doctors’ Strike

11 January 2016 — The People’s Assembly Against Austerity

The Junior Doctors will commence their first day of Industrial Action tomorrow. The BMA has stated “it is clear that the government is still not taking junior doctors’ concerns seriously… repeatedly dragged its feet throughout this process, initially rejecting our offer of talks and failing to make significant movement during negotiations.”

It is of vital importance that we stand with and support our Junior Doctors.

Picket sites will be in operation from 8am8pm tomorrow. Find your nearest picket here Please tweet or Facebook your photos and we will share.

There will be further Industrial Action on 26 Jan & 10 Feb.

Thousands of NHS Students protest to save bursaries
We would also like to say well done to the NHS Students, all over the Country, that came out in their thousands on Saturday. Training bursaries are a necessity for the future health of our NHS.

If you can’t make it in person, they are asking you to contact your MP to tell them why they should oppose the bill (see this briefing  for points you can make, and find your MP here). You can either call 020 7219 3000 and ask to be put through (any time on Monday or Tuesday) or email, text or tweet them (contact details for most MPs can be found here).
