Everyone needs to see this new analysis about NHS privatisation… Research by the Centre for Health and the Public Interest (CHPI) has found that out of £12 billion spent by the NHS on outsourcing to private companies over 2 years, £1.6 billion has leaked out in profits.
This money could have funded an additional 19,428 nurses in our NHS. Instead, it’s gone to making private companies and their shareholders richer. How can these companies get away with it? Because the government doesn’t put any limits on how much profit they can make. In fact, 131 companies with NHS contracts are making a profit in excess of 20%. |
