[Prefatory Note: The post below is a much modified set of responses to questions posed by Mohamed Elmenshawy a journalist working at Al Jazeera Arabic from Washington 1/10/2024). Question 9 below has been added to deal with Western media bias as illustrated by three opinion pieces published on 1/17/2024.]
A Daily Express Journalist has infiltrated Palestine Action and handed information to the police, leading to six arrests for conspiracy to cause criminal damage.

Davos has been immensely enlightening.
Everything out in the open.
War IS Peace.
Ukraine is NOT losing and Russia is not winning.
If you disagree with us – on ANYTHING – you will be censored for “hate speech”.
We want the New World Order – whatever you peasants think – and we want it now.
And if all fails, Disease X is comin’ to get ya.

Best quote of the week, so far:
Jake Sullivan: “Through a combination of steady deterrence and steadfast diplomacy, we seek to stop the spread of conflict and to create the conditions for de-escalation.”
The Financial Times has reported that at least 70% of all global oil shipments are being rerouted after Britain and the United States carried out attacks on Yemen.

I thought this extract from the latest article from Simplicius demonstrates just how much technology has changed the balance of power between the richest country on the planet, the USA and one of the very poorest on the planet, Yemen:
The US and its tiny isolated rabble of servile ‘allies’ attacked Yemen in an absolutely impotent strike that did nothing and will have no effect whatsoever on Yemen’s continued blockade of the Red Sea.
Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate discuss South Africa’s case against Israel under the Genocide Convention, the US-UK strikes on Yemen, and more.
“These strikes were defensive, and designed to preserve freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways. The Yemeni attacks must end.”
Dylan White, a spokesperson for NATO has stated that the bombing of Yemen was merely an act of defense.

Over the last weeks, campaigners in the UK have targeted arms manufacturers, companies, banks and universities that are complicit in the violation of rights of Palestinians living under occupation. They have also protested against the Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill (otherwise known as the anti-boycott bill) that had its third Commons reading this week. If passed, this legislation, by preventing public bodies’ investment policies from singling out a particular state or showing ‘political or moral disapproval of foreign state conduct’ will clip the wings of this highly ethical civil society movement. And lest there is any doubt that the bill is aimed at granting Israel impunity for its violations of the human rights of Palestinians, the proof is in the text which names Israel, the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Occupied Golan Heights as territories that the law will explicitly protect from public sector boycotts.
Blinne Ní Ghrâlaigh KC give a stunning presentation during South Africa’s case vs Israel at the International Court of Justice on Thursday 11 January 2024.

The eyes of the world turned to The Hague on Thursday morning as the International Court of Justice began hearing the genocide case against Israel brought by South Africa.
Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate discuss the thuggish pro-Israel billionaire campaign to control academia, fallout from new Epstein revelations as Israel’s most obscene propaganda stunt collapses, the wave of Israeli assassinations and bombings across the region, and the latest on the Ukraine proxy war.
Next week at The Hague, South Africa will be represented by Irish lawyer Blinne Ní Ghrálaigh in the case against Israel.

A famous quote by Franz Kafka says, “Every thing you love is very likely to be lost, but in the end, love will return in a different way.”
The same principle, I believe, applies to any other powerful feeling, including resentment, hate, anger, even rage.
American officials should know this well as they continue to support Israel with billions of dollars of military and economic aid and anything and everything that would allow Israel to continue with its genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza.
Following a Yemeni blockade, commercial traffic passing through the Red Sea has dropped. Global shipping website Marine Traffic (MarineTraffic.com) notes that major companies like MSC, Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, and CMA CGM have suspended shipments through the region, instead re-routing their vessels around the entirety of Africa.
The Yemeni blockade comes as a response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. As 40% of global international trade passes by Yemen through the Red Sea, the ramifications of this blockade could be enormous.

Richard Falk
In this time of humanitarian emergency and criminality, the enraged voices of the people must be heard above the tsunami of state propaganda controlled by Israel and its geopolitical supporters in the Global West. It is no longer necessary or useful to debate whether this spectacle of horror satisfies the legal definition of ‘genocide.’ Lawyers and bureaucrats can indefinitiely prolong debate while children daily die and homes of previously abused persons continue to be destroyed. We are all responsible to act now to stem the high tide of Palestinian blood flowing across a still passive human terrain.
