Black America: Sinking to a New “Bottom”?

by BAR executive editor Glen Ford
The Black job market is imploding, even as the moneyed classes congratulate themselves on having “turned the corner” toward economic recovery. Alarming Black unemployment patterns indicate that “a perfect storm of racial disadvantage” has occurred. “Virtually nothing prevents the boss from acting out his prejudices and greed with impunity.” There’s nothing “post-racial” about the current crisis for Black workers.

Freedom Rider: Obama’s Lies About Iran
Posted Tue, 04/06/2010 – 22:15 by Margaret Kimberley

by BAR editor and senior columnist Margaret Kimberley
The Peace Prize winner in the White House continues to beat the drums of war with Iran, in perfect synch with the corporate media orchestra. “The New York Times was made privy to what has been called a ‘parlor game,’ of ‘Imagining an Israeli Strike on Iran’” – apparently in the spirit of the old motivational slogan, “If you can conceive it, you can achieve it.”

DC Rally Organizers: “Arne Duncan Has To Go!”
Posted Tue, 04/06/2010 – 22:11 by Glen Ford

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by BAR executive editor Glen Ford

Burn Hollywood Burn!

A Black Agenda Radio commentary by BAR editor and columnist Jared A. Ball, Ph.D.

by Geraldine Winstanley, AN political writer
Hot off the presses: slavery is about to stage a return engagement, by presidential decree. “This and the president’s repeated visits to Africa have helped him develop a sense of slavery’s rich contribution to the development of what he calls ‘this magical place the United States.’”
