012/nov/eu-meijers-committee-dp.pdf
“The Meijers Committee emphasizes that the adoption of a new legislative framework protecting the rights of individuals with regard to the processing of their personal data should be complemented with a comprehensive data protection policy within the EU. This means that new measures extending the collection, processing, and use of personal data, such as the Smart Borders Project and the extended use of personal data for the purpose of law enforcement, should be critically reviewed, assessing both the necessity and added value of these measures, as the possible risks and impact for fundamental rights of citizens.”

http://www.europeanvoice.com/article/imported/a-damning-audit-on-the-eu-in-kosovo-/75627.aspx?bPrint=1
“near-complete inaction on high-level corruption and organised crime has consolidated a ten-year tradition of impunity. And some inexplicable mistakes have objectively strengthened the leading faction of Kosovo’s elite, which could thus spread its influence so pervasively across the institutions that Kosovo is now at risk of state capture, as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) recently noted.”

The G6 is comprised of the Interior Ministers of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom, the +1 is the USA: “Over the past year, the Department of Homeland Security, Europol, and EU partners have exchanged information on U.S. and EU based fusion center best practices, countering violent extremism” See UK government statement March, 2009: which said that in future the proceedings would be kept secret: “No formal conclusions would be issued after meetings”:

10. Lampedusa‚s cemetery (link) Statement by mayor of Lampedusa, here is an abstract:
012/11/_lampedusas_cemetery.html
„I‚m outraged by the normalcy that seemed to have spread to everyone like contagion. I am scandalised by the silence of Europe that has just received the Nobel Peace Prize and yet is staying silent in the face of a massacre that has the numbers of a true war. I‚m becoming more convinced that European policy on immigration considers this offering of human lives to be a way to restrict the flows of people, or maybe a deterrent‰

16. EU: NEW CIVIL-MILITARY INITIATIVE NEEDED: Meeting of the Foreign Affairs Ministers and Ministers of Defence of France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Spain – Paris, 15 November 2012: 012/nov/eu-military-plan.pdf
New initiative on crisis management and civil-military interface for use externally also has implications for internal policies begging the question of whether “crisis management” should be under civil or military control: “The particular strength of the Common Security and Defence Policy lies in the comprehensive approach to crisis management. By mobilising all its civilian and military instruments, the European Union must be able to deal with complex, multi-actor and multidimensional crises, while at the same time increase the efficiency of its missions and operations.”

17. EU: European Data Protection Supervisor: EDPS: responsibility in the Cloud should not be up in the air (Press release)
012/nov/eu-edps-cloud-computing-prel.pdf
and Opinion: 012/nov/eu-edps-cloud-computing-opinion.pdf
“Peter Hustinx, EDPS, says: “Cloud computing can bring enormous benefits to individuals and organisations alike but it must also provide an adequate level of protection. Currently, many cloud customers, including members of social media, have little influence over the terms and conditions of the service offered by cloud providers. We must ensure that the cloud service providers do not avoid taking responsibility and that cloud customers are able to fulfil their data protection obligations. The complexity of cloud computing technology does not justify any lowering of data protection standards.”

012/nov/eu-greece-racism-prel-hunko.pdf
“„The European Union is supporting the Greek government‚s inhuman migration policy by funding detention facilities. Racist crackdowns are connected to political pressure from Germany for fewer refugees to be allowed to enter the Schengen area,‰ said Andrej Hunko, Member of the Bundestag, in response to information provided by the German government about the EU‚s financial support for Greece.”
