Catherine Ashton: Victim of Bologna Higher Education System
08.03.2014 | 10:22 | Dmitriy SEDOV
The roots of the Bologna process go back to old times and reflect the need of European empires in educated cretins to fill the positions in government structures… At present Catherin Ashton is promoting the image of Ukrainian nationalist gangs trying to make them become part of the «democracy league»… The whole world saw the footage with snipers shooting both ways during the Maidan standoff between protesters and police. That’s how democracy is fostered in undemocratic countries. The use of «unidentified snipers» usually brings around good results contributing into the achievement of common goal – the overthrow of hated regime. Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet was naïve as a child to tell Catherine Ashton about it on the phone. Now the head of Brussels diplomacy has to imitate a blackout again turning a deaf ear to the message while the whole world is watching…
US against Venezuela: Cold War Goes Hot
08.03.2014 | 00:00 | Nil NIKANDROV
…Political analysts are paying attention to the timing of America’s efforts to replace the government in Venezuela and Ukraine. Washington wants to show the world that a superpower is still capable of directing the course of events in different parts of the world in whatever direction it needs. Obama would like to conclude his presidency with spectacular victories in Eastern Europe and Latin America: turning Ukraine into a satellite state, which would ensure America’s military presence on Russia’s borders, and carrying out a significant regime change in Venezuela in order to put paid to all independent Latin American integration projects…
Does Crimea Need OSCE Team?
07.03.2014 | 11:29 | Dmitry NEFEDOV
Having encountered organized resistance in Novorussia and, especially, in Crimea, Western sponsors of Ukrainian Nazi-putschists never stop efforts to influence the events indirectly. They set great store by the mission of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) military observers visiting the Autonomous Republic of Crimea… Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has criticized moves by the OSCE and NATO, which have suspended some joint undertakings with Russia, saying their actions «are not helping to create an atmosphere of dialogue and constructive cooperation». No doubt his statement will be followed by measures to prevent provocations staged in Crimea under the cover of OSCE or the United Nations. The bloody traces left by the West using the cover of international organizations in the Balkans and the Caucasus are still vivid in memory.
Ukrainian Scenario: The Hypocrisy of Western Outrage on Russian Military Action
07.03.2014 | 00:00 | Hannes HOFBAUER
In addition to military intervention, Western allies since two decades operate by means of soft power. So-called «coloured revolutions» are playing the «civil card» for Western interests… For Ukraine the period of «soft power»-intervention ended with the appeal of right-wing nationalists to arm activists on the 19th of February 2014… Brussels and Washington accelerated the pressure on the Ukraine government and the president. Their motto was: regime change by all means… The Russian reaction was foreseeable. One could see that Putin not only had learned his lesson in the field of using soft power, but also on the military front. Russian arguments for military action in Crimea equal Western ones. Putin’s press-officers and his whole government speak of «protecting human rights and national self-determination» like their Western opponents did and do…
Phone Wrecks: The Secret Agenda of Ashton and Nuland Revealed
07.03.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN
Two war-mongering women who represent the West’s foreign policy apparatus, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and EU official and onetime British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament activist Catherine Ashton, have seen their secret agenda for Ukraine revealed as a result of leaked phone conversations… It is clear that neither the Ashton nor Nuland phone calls were meant to be overheard by the «unwashed masses». However, thanks to the intercept capabilities of loyal and proficient Ukrainian security agents, the world now understands the perfidy of two chattering women who are helping lead Europe and, possibly, the rest of the world, into a massive conflagration…

Ukraine: Washington’s Hysteria Towards Russia Hides US Regime Change
06.03.2014 | 09:27 | Finian CUNNINGHAM
…The latest revelations that killings in Kiev’s Maidan Square among protesters and police were covertly carried out by snipers working for the Western-backed agitators are further proof that a coup d’état was orchestrated… Unabashed by its unequivocal involvement in engineering regime change in Ukraine, American and European leaders are demanding that Russia withdraw troops from Crimea or face sanctions. Washington’s top diplomat John Kerry said the US would isolate Russia «economically, politically and diplomatically» if it did not reverse security measures, or as Kerry put it «aggression». Meanwhile, there is not a scintilla of indication that the Americans and Europeans have any intention of reversing their unlawful interference in Ukraine. Far from it, Kerry on his visit to the junta in Kiev this week said that the US was offering $1 billion in loan guarantees. The New York Times explained: «The purpose of the loan guarantees is to support Ukraine’s efforts to integrate with the West»…
Yanukovych Asks Russia for Help in Restoring Law and Order in Ukraine
06.03.2014 | 00:00 | Wayne MADSEN
Ukraine’s democratically-elected President Viktor Yanukovych, in exile in Russia, sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking for Russia to use its armed forces to restore law and order to Ukraine. The fact that a third of Ukrainian ministries are now firmly in the hands of neo-Nazis representing the Svoboda and Right Sector political parties… Yanukovych’s letter to Putin was released by Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin. In the letter, Yanukovych told Putin, «The country has plunged into chaos and anarchy. The country is in the grip of outright terror and violence driven by the West. In this context, I appeal to the President of Russia Vladimir V. Putin to use the armed forces of the Russian Federation to re-establish the rule of law, peace, order, stability, and to protect the people of Ukraine»…
Patrons of Ukraine’s Nazi Putschists Spook Russia with Sanctions: Diplomatic Bluff
06.03.2014 | 00:00 | Andrey ARESHEV
As the events in and around Ukraine unfold, the reaction of some Western circles becomes close to hysteria… There is a plethora of retaliatory measures Russia is threatened with including awe-evoking suspension of preparations for the breath shooting session called “G8 summit” and freezing Russian officials and natural persons’ bank accounts… The idea of diplomatic isolation belongs to fantasy. For instance, Beijing has already confirmed that it would veto any United Nations Security Council resolution against Russia… The hypothetic introduction of sanctions against Russia will not entail deterioration of its economic plight. It will make Russia mobilize its own internal resources for industrial growth giving rise to patriotic sentiments uniting business elite and common people around the state’s political elite.
Ukrainian Military: Where Does its Loyalty Lie?
05.03.2014 | 09:29 | Dmitry MININ
The new government in Kiev is trying to strengthen its position by putting armed forces on full alert and waving the «Motherland in danger» banners spreading around military intervention spooks. It gives rise to the question if the power agencies, especially the military, treated so wrong by the government before, are really so eager to defend the new authorities, do they see the new people in power as the ones identified with the Ukraine’s national interests? The putschists who grabbed power in the country, are they not bluffing? Until now the military had been blocked in barracks to prevent it from carrying out a command given by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to restore the constitutional order in the country. Formally Victor Yanukovych is still the head of state. What if the military would act on his orders upon leaving the places of permanent disposition? The servicemen are under oath, they have given the pledge of allegiance to the President chosen by people, they never deviated from their duty and no other oath has ever been taken…
Russia in Crimea: to Rescue, Protect and Defend
05.03.2014 | 00:00 | Boris NOVOSELTSEV
…The West got embroiled in its own geopolitical game and lost its bearings; it stopped to treat Russia as an equal partner ignoring the fact that it has its lawful interests in the post-Soviet space… Playing its geopolitical games the West has approached the red line posing a threat to the balance of forces in the Black Sea region and, potentially, in the entire Eurasia. The Russia’s interests in the region are not something abstract; it’s a reality for the West to reckon with. No way could the West-Russia dialogue proceed according to the pattern which envisions Russia constantly making concessions and retreating from its stance…
IMF and Ukraine: Bleak Prospects for Future
04.03.2014 | 00:00 | Valentin KATASONOV
It was reported recently that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Ukraine planned launching talks to nail down a new aid package. This year Ukraine is to pay off 6 billion dollars. It has asked the IMF for a $15 billion loan. Kiev hoped to receive it as early as April. But the talks have not started so far (a group of IMF experts is to visit Ukraine in early March) and there is no talking about any time frame… There is an impression that the IMF experts are coming to Kiev not for the purpose of making precise the conditions for granting a new loan, but rather to see if the International Monetary Fund could get back the money Ukraine owes to it this year and how quick it could be done. The country is on the verge of default. The situation is critical no matter what criteria are used for assessment. The Ukraine’s economy is burdened by internal and external debts…
Ukraine: The Dangers of Dealing with Delusional Western Leaders
04.03.2014 | 00:00 | Finian CUNNINGHAM
…Kerry is to travel this week to Kiev «in a gesture of support» for the US-backed new regime, which is headed up by so-called interim Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. The junta in Kiev has key cabinet posts occupied by members of the neo-Nazi Svoboda party, including those for national security, armed forces and justice. The Washington-backed cabal in Kiev follows the script outlined by Kerry’s underling Victoria Nuland last month in a phone call to the US ambassador to the Ukraine, and it came into being under the threat of further violence from the fascist thugs who manhandled the elected President Viktor Yanukovych out of office at the end of February…
National Revolution and Nuclear Sites Safety. Who’ll Disarm Ukrainian Arms Toting Gunslingers?
03.03.2014 | 00:00 | Viktor BURBAKI
The victory of «national revolution» in Kiev and the ensuing destabilization of the country call for assessment of emerging threats. There are four nuclear stations with fifteen units on Ukrainian soil… What stands it the way of Bandera gangs capturing the Rovenskaya nuclear power plant?! Berkut (special police units in Ukraine) was the only force capable of preventing terrorist acts. It is disbanded now; its place is taken by Bandera assault units. TV channels showed automatic gun toting Sashok Biliy, ex-guard of Dzhokhar Dudaev (self-proclaimed «president» of Chechnya in the 1990s), who became known for threatening Rovenskaya Oblast (region) local organs of power with an assault rifle… Nuclear burials are of special concern. The one in Dneprodzerzhinsk, near Pridneprovsk chemical plant is especially vulnerable… Russia should be ready to act in case a nuclear accident takes place in Ukraine threatening adjacent lands, including Russian territory, with nuclear contamination. Russian experts are also concerned over the possibility of transporting nuclear waste to the Russian border areas, like it took place during the former President Yushenko tenure…
Turning a Cold War Tactic back on the West: Headquartering «Captive Nations» in Moscow
02.03.2014 | 12:05 | Wayne MADSEN
During the Cold War, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency concocted a scheme by which so-called «Captive Nations», so-called «satellite» nations of eastern and central Europe and countries lacking United Nations membership, such as Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, were treated as subjugated nation-states by the West… With the ouster of the democratically-elected government of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych by forces representing neo-Nazi, World Bank, and reactionary Ukrainian nationalist forces, the Russian government is in a position to grant «Captive Nation» status to not only a Ukrainian government-in-exile (GIE) but also to any other progressive government overthrown by street mobs and neo-fascists… The world is at a crossroads. It can follow the West into austerity, bankruptcy, and subjugation as a «captive planet». Or it can stand with the Ukrainian government-in-exile, Russia, China, Venezuela, Thailand, and other progressive countries against the rise of neo-fascism and tyranny…
Ukraine on Radar Screen of World Politics
02.03.2014 | 00:33 | Elena PONOMAREVA
Ukraine is in trouble. The monster has woken up and got out of its den to stand upright and go, its dirty feet trampling the beautiful and abundant Ukrainian soil, any dissent quashed mercilessly. The ugly mug opened its stinking mouth as blood of victims is dropping down; the creature is looking for more preys to gobble. The name of the beast is nationalism in its most perverted form with its roots going down to fascist ideology. How come it has taken place? Who has taken care and fed the creature during all the years? Who has fostered the destructive shoots of national exceptionalism, hatred, intolerance? For whom the Maidan bell tolls?..
