Are ministers being lied to about Palantir, or are they just not brave enough to stand up to it?! Today the Financial Times reported that ministers are considering handing US spy tech company Palantir a 2-year extension on its £330m NHS contract, while claiming to look for a British alternative.
The government hasn’t made an official announcement, so we don’t know how accurate these reports are. But it’s clear that our movement has forced the government to admit, at least in private, that Palantir is the wrong partner for the NHS. However, the reasons being reported for the possible two-year extension are deeply flawed. It’s being argued that ending Palantir’s contract sooner would be “too disruptive” – yet there is a wealth of evidence demonstrating that usage of the platform is low, and that many benefit claims have been found to be unsubstantiated. We need to push back on these misleading claims. Fast. Here’s what you can do right now:

We need to ensure that the facts reach more people than the misleading media claims. Help us spread the word by sharing our new video with allies: |
2️⃣ Write to your MP |
|
On Tuesday 10 November an event in Parliament will set out the evidence on alternatives to Palantir, and we need every MP in the room. Ask yours to attend and to challenge ministers on these reports. Even if you’ve already contacted them, it doesn’t hurt to write again as we have updated the letter to respond to the new reports! |

Ministers cannot plan for a future without Palantir while reportedly handing it two more years So let’s call out these misleading claims, keep the pressure up and make sure ministers listen to patients! Thanks and more soon, Hope at Just Treatment |
