A deep dive into the Zionist movement with David Miller.

It was a privilege to speak with David Miller , one of the foremost scholars on Islamophobia and the Zionist Movement’s insidious influence globally, beyond the borders of Palestine and the West Asia region.

Iran Defies Trump’s Ultimatum and Threat of War

Seyed Mohammad Marandi with Glenn Diesen

    Glenn Diesen

I had the pleasure to speak with Seyed Mohammad Marandi, a professor, an analyst and advisor to Iran’s nuclear negotiation team. Prof. Marandi discusses Iran’s rejection of Trump’s ultimatum and the possible nuclear escalation.

Prof. Marandi addresses the US ultimatum of accepting its deal or be attacked. Prof. Marandi argues that the US cannot be trusted to uphold any agreements after pulling out of the JCPOA nuclear agreement in the past, and that US demands are too excessive to be even considered. Prof. Marandi argues the US is not in a position to launch a successful war against Iran, and believes that it is important to reject Trump’s ultimatum. Yet, Marandi does recognise that this may lead to a devastating war.

Will the UN Pillory Francesca Albanese?

Friday, 4 April 2025 — Global Justice in the 21st Century

    By Richard Falk

[Prefatory Note: The post below is based on my responses to Murat Sofuoglu, a journalist working for TRT World in Turkey devoted to the Reappointment of Francesca Albanese, published on 4/3/25. Although the article relies on the interview, its tone and content are quite different. This is another pivotal moment for the UN, and specifically for its Human Rights Council, raising the question whether the Organization is subject to geopolitical manipulation in addressing controversial issues that test the UN’s political independence. Tomorrow the UN Human Rights Council Assembly of Governments will vote on whether to reappoint Francesca Albanese as Special Rapporteur for Occupied Palestinian Territories for a second term of three years. She has been accused of ‘virulent antisemitism’ in carrying out this controversial role.]

Connecting the cuts: disability, borders and race

Thursday, 3 April 2025 — Institute of Race Relations

Last week, as highlighted in our calendar of racism and resistance, the government announced plans to cut at least £5 billion from disability benefits. Under such plans, over 370,000 people will lose their Personal Independence Payments (PIP), 3.2 million households will be worse off, 150,000 people will lose access to their carer’s allowance, and 250,000 people, including 50,000 children, will be pushed into poverty, according to the DWP’s own impact assessment.

    Decline of Economy and Empire

    Friday, 4 April 2025 — Glenn Diesen’s Substack

    Glenn Diesen

I had a conversation with Professor of Economics Richard Wolff, a renowned critic of contemporary capitalism and a leading proponent of alternative economic models. We discussed the economic exhaustion and imperial overstretch by the US, which has now reached a critical point. The US has accumulated unsustainable debt and has excessive economic inequality, which has fuelled social fragmentation and political polarisation / political theatre. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is constructing a post-American international economic system.

TRUMP CREATES A TARRIFIED WORLD WHICH WILL NOT MAKE AMERICA GREAT, BUT BREAK IT.

    Thursday, 3 April 2025 — ucanbpolitical

This article discusses tariffs, why they are counterproductive and Trump’s use or misuse of them. I apologise if the article is disjointed as it was written before and after Trump announced his Tariffs.

There are tariffs and there are tariffs. Tariffs applied to a youthful capitalism are to be sharply distinguished from those applied to a geriatric capitalism. The former is designed to catch up, the latter to stop falling further behind. A rising capitalism in an expanding world market can use tariffs as a means of shielding its economy from international competition in order to nurture its own industries until they can stand on their own feet. This is normally associated with state support and the centralisation of capital assisted by the state. On this basis, as in China, it can lead to the emergence of a new independent international competitor though this is a rare event, made even rarer as capitalism develops over time.

Whilst Also Degrading US Relations With All Other Nations

    Roger Boyd

In recent years China has moved up the value chain while also selling more and more China-brand products as it moves beyond just being a cheap manufacturer for foreign brands. This deeply threatens the industrial strength of Germany, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan as well as other European nations. These vassal nations are the buttress of US power in both Asia and Europe, so as they weaken so does regional US power. China threatens the core productive sectors of motor vehicles, heavy engineering, machine tools, and electronics that are the bedrock of these nations productive strength.

Andrée Blouin Is Our Kind of Pan-African Revolutionary: The Fourteenth Newsletter (2025)

    Thursday, 3 April 2025 — The Tricontinental

    Dear friends,

Greetings from the desk of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.

In 1962, Florence Nwanzuruahu Nkiru Nwapa (1931–1993), mostly known as Flora Nwapa, sent a book manuscript to the Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe (1930–2013). Four years earlier, Achebe, at the tender age of twenty-eight, had published his landmark novel Things Fall Apart with Heinemann. The novel arrived in Heinemann’s London office as the decolonisation movement began to change the shape of the African continent (Ghana won its independence in 1957, three years after Nigeria – both countries with an English-speaking population, however small, that used Heinemann’s science and English books in their education system). Achebe’s book inspired Heinemann’s Alan Hill to recruit Evander ‘Van’ Milne from Nelson Publishers (where Milne had published the autobiography of Kwame Nkrumah in 1957). Both Hill and Milne had left-wing politics, which is why Heinemann’s African Writers Series (AWS) published the work of Nkrumah, Kenneth Kaunda, and other national liberation leaders. By the time Flora Nwapa sent her book to Achebe, he was working as an advisor to the AWS and sent her money to mail her manuscript to London.

Israel’s war on Gaza is deliberately targeting children – new UN report

    19 March 2025 — The Conversation

A fresh round of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza which has killed more than 400 Palestinians has destroyed any hope that the ceasefire negotiated in January would hold. A statement from the child rights group Defence for Children Palestine claimed that 174 children had been killed in the bombing, claiming: “Today is one of the deadliest days for Palestinian Children in history.”

ONE of the arguments in favour of a divine power—or god—is that life could not have arisen naturally and needed a touch of the divine to come into being. While Oparin, Haldane and Bernal had argued how organic life forms can arise naturally, experimental proof that this is indeed the case was lacking, though the Urey-Miller experiments in 1953 came quite close to it. A recent experiment by a Stanford group has finally shown that complex molecules akin to what we see on Earth as life can arise naturally.

⚔️ Houthis ‘have essentially eliminated’ a US carrier strike group from East Asia ‘without having to fire a shot’

    Thursday, 3 April 2025 — Pepe Escobar

With the redeployment of the USS Carl Vinson, Yemeni Armed Forces fighters are “tying up” two US carrier strike groups.

China could not be more pleased. The guys at the 19fortyfive website did get it right.

The US Navy seems to have done the math: the Truman or the Vinson could ” be hit by a Houthi missile.”

“The stubborn Houthis have the missiles to make the Americans stay out of range”. You bet they do.

So even if coward CENTCOM, which for the moment is bombing civilian targets, decided to “eliminate” every fighter in the event of a successful carrier attack, it “would take a land warfare force of Marines, and there is no way this administration will ever have boots on the ground in the Middle East again.”

    Unconquerable Yemen.

It’s Official: Ukraine Conflict is British ‘Proxy War’

    Wednesday, 2 April 2025 — Global Delinquents

    Kit Klarenberg

On March 29th, the New York Times published a landmark investigation exposing how the US was “woven” into Ukraine’s battle with Russia “far more intimately and broadly than previously understood,” with Washington almost invariably serving as “the backbone of Ukrainian military operations.” The outlet went so far as to acknowledge the conflict was a “proxy war” – an irrefutable reality hitherto aggressively denied in the mainstream – dubbing it a “rematch” of “Vietnam in the 1960s, Afghanistan in the 1980s, Syria three decades later.”
