1. Peace House 50th Anniversary Celebration and Benefit

Music will be provided by acts including Raised Voices, Joe Wilkes, Ian Saville, Leon Rosselson, Freylekh Klezmer Dance Band, and Seize the Day, and there’ll be comedy from Robin Ince, Andrew O’Neill, Natalie Haynes, Colin Watson, Martin White, Phil Jeays and Joanna Neary. All followed by djs until 2am! Hope to see you there.

3. End of the decade sale!
Most people have their sales in January, but we thought we’d get in there early! We’ve got lots of new books on sale for 50% off or more – a good opportunity to pick up a nice present, either for yourself or a loved one. 4. ‘What is Psychogeography Today?’ with Rich Cochrane
Saturday 7th November 5pm – 6.30pm

Rich Cochrane explores the modern significance of psychogeography. Does modern psychogeography retain anything of the radical agenda of the 1960s? Should it? Does the term really mean much in relation to modern practice?

4. ‘Bob Dylan & Babylon: Together through Life’ with John Gibbens
Wednesday 11th November 7pm – 8.30pm

Drawing on his book ‘The Nightingale’s Code: A Poetic Study of Bob Dylan’, John Gibbens will be discussing the many influences on Dylan’s music, examining his more recent works, and playing some tracks. 5. ‘People Power: Unarmed Resistance and Global Solidarity’ with Howard Clark
Wednesday 18th November 7pm till 8.30pm

Author and peace researcher Howard Clark discusses the potential of people power to bring about significant political change through effective acts of nonviolent resistance.

6. ‘Songs of the Land’ with Leslie Ray
Friday 20th November 7pm – 8.30pm

Author and musician Leslie Ray will be discussing folk music, its connection with English history, and its role in forming our sense of identity. He’ll also be performing a selection of songs on these themes.

7. ‘Last Shop Standing: Whatever Happened to Record Shops’ with Graham Jones
Wednesday 25th November 7pm – 8.30pm

8. ‘The Chomsky Effect’ with Robert F Barsky
