Image0021. Agit Disco: a benefit shindig for Housmans  
We’d like to invite you to come along to a special fundraising DJ shindig, being put on by us, alongside the good people involved with the Agit Disco book (Mute Books 2011). We’ll be taking over both floors of local eco-music venue Surya, and filling it with guest selectors who featured in the Agit Disco book. 

The music policy on both floors will be nothing but the best politically-charged tunes ever recorded. There’ll be lots more info to follow – we’ve got some great people coming down to play – but for now be sure to get the date in your dairies.

Paradise Press launch two new titles by gay authors, as part of LGBT History Month celebrations.

‘Mental Health, Madness, Mental Suffering’ 
with contributors from the issue, alongside Mark Fisher and Joanna Moncrieff
Saturday 1st March, 6.30pm – Free Entry

The OT will be launching their 24th Issue, which has a particular focus on the politics of mental health and contemporary themes surrounding the ideas and lived experiences of madness: its intersection with gender and race struggles, the relationship of the state and capitalism, the role of drugs and psychiatry, and the possibilities for resistance and transformation in the midst of undoubted suffering.

Wednesday 5th March
Council meeting 7 – 8pm, Talk 8 – 9pm, Free Entry
Bi-monthly London Region CND council meeting, followed by discussion about the lasting consequences of the 2011 Fukushima disaster with guest speaker from the World Network for Saving Children from Radiation.

Housmans has a regular Pacifism and Nonviolence Discussion Group, who meet on the second Tuesday of the month. All are welcome, but please be prepared to join in the discussion. Please try to turn up by 7pm sharp. 
On Tuesday 11 March 2014, we will be discussing PACIFISM AND “NATIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION”.
