13 September 2012 — Youtube

Sheffield Doc/Fest

Protest and dissent has flourished across the world in the last 12 months, and documentary-makers are playing their part. But what role can filmmakers play in empowering the 99% and challenging Governments and Corporations? Join a panel of activist-filmmakers discussing their role in speaking truth to power, and using documentary as a tool of protest. Just as great a challenge is how to have radical social and political impact for audiences whilst maintaining a sustainable career. And just what is a protest doc anyway? Filmed by Sheffield Hallam University students and edited by Dave Holloway.
