A woman stands with arms foldedFarah Maraqa, a Palestinian-Jordanian journalist, stood up to Deutsche Welle and won.

Monday was a “date for celebrations,” Farah Maraqa wrote.

The Palestinian-Jordanian journalist had just won her lawsuit against Deutsche Welle.

The German state broadcaster was ordered by the Berlin labor court to reinstate her and pay all her legal costs.

The decisive victory “suggests that the court recognized that Farah’s termination, based on a controversial investigation and unfounded allegations of anti-Semitism related to reports published before her employment contract, was illegal,” said the European Legal Support Center.

Israel lobby groups have long seen the Black Lives Matter movement as a threat and have tried both to disrupt and co-opt it.

Is This The Epicentre of Corbyn’s Antisemitism Story?

8 April 2019 — True Publica
REVEALED: The epicentre of Corbyn's anti-Semitism story

By TruePublica: The British-American Project for the Successor Generation, to give it its full title, was officially founded in 1985 – “to perpetuate the close relationship between the United States and Britain,” and in the words of BAP’s official history, through “transatlantic friendships and professional contacts”. Today, It has a membership of over “1000 leaders and opinion formers”, drawn equally from both countries. It was conceived in 1982 by Nick Butler, a Labour Party insider of the old right and a research fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (known as Chatham House). It was funded by the far-right oil baron J. Howard Pew and launched by (neoliberal) US president Ronald Reagan and right-wing media baron Rupert Murdoch.

Anti-Semitism Pandemic! By C J Hopkins

11 March 2019 — Greanville Post

Get the kids into the house! Lock your doors! Board up the windows! Break out the gas masks and hazmat suits! According to the corporate media, we are now officially deep in the throes of a deadly anti-Semitism pandemic! And just as the threat of mind-controlling Russian influencers was finally waning! It seems the fabric of Western democracy just can’t catch a break these days.

Would railing at a Labour Saudi lobby be racist? By Jonathan Cook

9 March 2019 — Jonathan Cook

Owen Jones has made a short video discussing Labour’s crisis over anti-semitism. There are some good elements to it, not least the warning against conspiratorial thinking, and an admission, admittedly a fairly limited one, that the Labour leadership should not be accused of being anti-semitic (and implicitly that the party is not “institutionally anti-semitic”.)

Media Lens: The Fake News Nazi – Corbyn, Williamson And The Anti-Semitism Scandal

6 March 2019 — Media Lens

One of us had a discussion with an elderly relative:

‘He can’t be allowed to become Prime Minister.’

‘Why not?’

‘It’s so awful…’

‘What is?’

‘The way he hates the Jews.’

The last comment was spoken with real anguish, the result of continuous exposure to just two main news sources: the Daily Mail and the BBC.

What is astonishing is that, just four years ago, essentially no-one held this view of Jeremy Corbyn.

Conforming to establishment media groupthink could destroy Corbyn By Joe Emersberger

5 March 2019 — The Canary

The establishment media in the UK constantly proclaims various ‘truths’ that all serious people are supposed to accept. Many of these claims are sold in any ‘capitalist democracy’. It tells us which governments are ‘dictatorships’ that must ‘pressured’ or overthrown. It tells us a government’s finances are like a household’s. In recent years, the UK media has also been telling the public  that the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn is antisemitic.

Owen Jones Unpersons Chris Williamson By Kit Knightly

28 February 2019 — Off Guardian

Syme was not only dead, he was abolished, an unperson.
George Orwell – 1984

Chris Williamson should never have been suspended from the Labour Party – he should never have been rebuked or chastised for his words at Sheffield. He told the truth, and those who have deliberately taken his words out of context to vilify him in smug, dishonest editorials, have a political axe to grind that is nothing to do with genuine antisemitism.
