The New Dark Age

In Bolivia, the old ruling classes and privileged castes were expelled from the strategic places of the State, and a democratic and popular bloc was imposed that to this day governs with sovereignty and national independence. Never were political and economic transformations so profound, which we DO NOT WANT TO RENOUNCE AND WE ARE WILLING TO DEFEND because they are historical achievements of the Process of Change. Here is a dignified people who have resolved to be free and who are going to have to face it. Our response will be forceful, determined, UNITARY and within the framework of the historic program of national liberation forged in the popular struggles.

The privileged groups and conservative sectors, who have always been lackeys of imperialism, try to rise up disguised with the tricolor flag, longing to return to the “racist and colonial Republic,” and hoisting the old neoliberal program. This movement represents the ignorance of our Plurinationality, the theft of our natural resources and our national sovereignty. These groups speak demagogically of democracy to re-establish old forms of oppression on the indigenous and popular majorities. Democracy was a conquest of the people, first of dictatorships and then of neoliberals who placed it at the service of big transnational capital. Let no one be mistaken, today Bolivia is living the most democratic, popular and liberating moment in its history, that is what our president Evo Morales represents, who commands by obeying the people.

The coup right speaks of fraud, while THE ONLY FRAUD IS THE RIGHT, they did not have a project for the country nor do they now have it in their mobilizations. They have to take orders from imperialism in the face of their failure and loss of political horizons, which is why their violence descends into racism and classism. Understand this, their violence does not replace their lack of vision of the country, that is where their historic defeat begins.

It is time to raise our historic plurinational, popular and liberating Program, which was forged in the social struggles and crystallized in the October 2003 Agenda, with the nationalization of our natural resources towards their industrialization, redistribution of wealth with social justice, and the decolonizing transformation of the State towards the horizon of Living Well.

Therefore, it is resolved:

1- FOR THE DEFENSE OF THE VOTE AND AGAINST THE NEOLIBERAL SHOCK, it is essential to forge the ORGANIC UNITY OF THE BOLIVIAN PEOPLE IN THE TURN OF THE POPULAR NATIONAL HISTORICAL PROGRAM OF LIBERATION, WHICH IS THE ESSENCE OF THE PROCESS OF CHANGE THAT WE DEFEND.

2- Unity must prevail around the leadership of President Evo Morales, CONALCAM and COB; avoiding falling into any type of skirmishes and fragmentary clashes that will only achieve violence in favor of the coup in progress.

3- CONALCAM and COB, through their departmental and regional bodies, must effectively incorporate all organizations and living forces that are already in struggle and others willing to fight against the coup for the defense of Democracy.

4- All of us who make audiovisual propaganda and activity in networks and computer media should reinforce the strategy of denouncing the attempted coup d’état for the ignorance of our vote, in all possible spaces of diffusion with the objective of dismantling the media onslaught of the right and imperialism, because the coup plotters have the national and international media to impose their calumnies.

5- To articulate as much international support as possible for the Bolivian revolution in the face of imperialism’s interfering onslaught which, in its intention to support the coup right wing, will not hesitate to use the instruments of international order subordinated to its interests.

6- We call on the mobilized sectors in general and the youth in particular, to transfer their struggle to the terrain of ideas and to debate whether their democratic demands can be effective in supporting the vende patrias that today are calling them to mobilization. Bolivia needs young people who are creative and committed to the sovereignty of the people and willing to build a good life.

7- Declare maximum alert and permanent mobilization against the current coup d’état, orchestrated by the self-styled Coordinator for the Defense of Democracy, made up of traitors and twenty homelands, which constitute the operative arm of the coup right wing.

LONG LIVE THE UNITY AND DIGNITY OF THE BOLIVIAN PEOPLE!
LONG LIVE THE PLURINATIONAL STATE AND THE SOVEREIGNTY OF THE PEOPLES!
DEATH TO THE RIGHT THAT SELLS THE HOMELAND AND THE COUP!
LONG LIVE THE YOUTH TOGETHER WITH THEIR PEOPLE!
LONG LIVE UNITED LATIN AMERICA!
DOWN WITH YANKEE IMPERIALISM!
DOWN WITH THE COUP D’ETAT OF THE RIGHT!
VIVA EVO MORALES!
