Bolivian President Morales announces his resignation

Bolivia’s President Evo Morales has resigned, shortly after the country’s military urged him to do so. Two officials next in line to take over the government also left as the country is in turmoil after weeks of protests.

“I resign from my position as president so that (Carlos) Mesa and (Luis Fernando) Camacho do not continue to persecute socialist leaders,” Morales  said during a televised address naming the leaders of the opposition.

On day one of this general election campaign, the Jewish Chronicle ran an editorial imploring non-Jewish British citizens not to vote Labour. Citing a poll commissioned by the paper which suggested that 87% of British Jews consider Jeremy Corbyn to be an antisemite, the Chronicle warned: “If this man is chosen as our next prime minister, the message will be stark: that our dismay that he could ever be elevated to a prominent role in British politics, and our fears of where that will lead, are irrelevant.”

One of the objectives of the offensive is to have managed to gather all the formations of confrontation, and to reinforce the mobilization with sectors coming from different points of the country to La Paz.

These are days and hours of coup offensive in Bolivia. The attempt to overthrow President Evo Morales is gaining strength, territory and capacity for action. Like an announced bullet that arrives from the front and has a date: before next Tuesday.

An initiative receiving counter-extremism funding from the Home Office has reportedly been posting consistently anti-Corbyn messages.

Faith Matters is funded by the Home Office’s Building a Stronger Britain Together programme (BSBT). It has regularly shared views against Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn. According to a report published by the Home Office in October, it has awarded “around £8.8 million of government funding” to recipients of BSBT funding since 2016.
