The Russian military is still integrating most of the mobilized 300,000+ men and volunteers. According to Putin 25% of the mobilized forces are in combat units, 25% in rear positions, while 50% train in Russia. It does not look like an imminent all out attack on the Ukrainian front lines is in the cards. The expected large winter attack may not be coming at all. Instead the new forces will rotate through the frontline and only attack locally whenever they see an opportunity.

With up to a thousand casualties a day, and survivors being treated in conditions such as this, the Ukrainian defense of Artemovsk cannot last for long

Preamble

A recent article covered the unraveling situation for Ukrainian forces in Artemovsk, (Bakhmut) mounting casualties beginning to bleed Kiev’s war machine white over recent weeks. Two days ago, this matter was examined by Newsweek, the article going further than any other mainstream Western piece over the last year in its criticism of both the Ukrainian military as well as its government. Whilst the dilemma facing Zelenskiy is hardly any surprise, the fact that a stalwart of the US media has published a story such as this is news indeed. This article will not only look at the possible Ukrainian withdrawal from Artemovsk, but also the shift being seen in America as Kiev’s predicament now becomes so desperate that not even the US media can ignore the obvious truths of the situation.

Tuesday, 6 December 2022 — The van says…

This is one of the luckier members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Many more like him have already perished, Kiev expending the lives of unwilling soldiers in a game it can never win.

Those following current affairs in Eastern Europe cannot have failed to notice the bloody fighting in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) over recent days and weeks. As a stronghold of Ukrainian defenses, it is a very tough nut to crack, yet there may be more to Russia’s assault in the town that meets the eye. This article will examine why there may be more to Moscow’s moves in the area than are at first apparent.
