Israel’s army has suffered many defeats and a 2-month hiatus will serve many purposes as it never came close to succeeding in its tasks.

The recent news of a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel should be welcomed, if it is real and the parties are sincere about their statements and intentions. But how much can we trust western media to guide us through the maize of the deal, even its minutia, when we have seen their absolute allegiance to Israel? A recent ‘explainer’ by the BBC laid out all the points. Israel and the Lebanese state will enforce the UN article 1701 for the first time since 2006. In a nutshell, it requires all Hezbollah fighters and their equipment to be shipped north of the Litani river, thus creating a 20 km buffer zone on Israel’s border. Lebanese armed forced are expected to move into this area and to ensure that no Hezbollah presence is ever there and to play the role of some sort of peacekeeper, western police force. You know the kind of thing.
On November 27th, ultra-extremist militants Hayat Tahrir al-Sham launched a vast offensive in Syria. Within days, the Turkey-backed faction seized significant swaths of Aleppo, the country’s second-largest city, and advances elsewhere continue. While disinformation on the scale and success of HTS’ incursions abounds on social media, establishment news outlets remain the primary source of manipulation and deceit. No context to the current upsurge of violence is provided, although reference has been widely made to supposedly “peaceful” protests in 2011 that produced the decade-long Syrian civil war.

A missile attack on an Israeli gas platform and Hezbollah’s drone strike highlight the growing vulnerability of Israel’s energy infrastructure amid its military expansion. With gas supplies crucial to Israel and its allies, the rising tensions signal broader geopolitical risks. Palestinian campaigners push for a global energy embargo to challenge this reliance.

For almost three years, NATO countries have boycotted diplomatic contacts with Russia, even as hundreds of thousands of men have died on the battlefield. The decision by diplomats to reject diplomacy is morally repugnant as diplomacy could have reduced the excess of violence, prevented escalation, and even resulted in a path to peace. However, the political-media elites skilfully sold the rejection of diplomacy to the public as evidence of their moral righteousness.

Pediatric Intensive Care Dr. Tanya Haj Hassan, who volunteered in Gaza, shared accounts of the horrors she witnessed in Gaza’s hospitals before the UN.
Haj Hassan said, “Spend just five minutes in a hospital there and it will become painfully clear that Palestinians are being intentionally massacred, starved, and stripped of everything needed to sustain human life.”
She recalled the story of “13-year-old Amir, who sustained severe neck trauma and kept calling for his sister,” yet “he didn’t recognize that she was the girl in the bed next to him because she had been burned beyond recognition.”
Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan dared the participants before her to “take a second and imagine all of the children that I just spoke about, their mothers, their fathers, desperately seeking medical care and searching for hope… Then the electricity cuts out. The entrance to the hospital is struck by a missile.”
Russia’s use of its Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile in eastern Ukraine represents an unprecedented escalation in what began as a US proxy war against Russia in 2014.
In Africa, the leading forces of capitalism have ruthlessly wielded a neoliberal conception of corruption to undermine states’ sovereignty and open the continent to plunder at the hands of Western multinational corporations.

It has long been known that soldiers/mercenaries are fighting Russians in Ukraine and now inside Russia, in Kursk. Many continue to deny this fact. Recently, the Russian military released an interrogation video of a British soldier/mercenary they captured in the Kursk region. He identifies himself as “James Scott Rhys Anderson,” who served as a signalman in the British army, and then joined the Ukrainian army sometime in 2023, to make some money.
His interrogation is interesting for one curious reason – his claim of a working-class background, and his refined, public school accent contradict each other. The British have sent a lot of specialists into Ukraine who are leading insurgency and various terrorist efforts. But what do you think?

Why are President Trump and so many Republicans eager Zionists?
Welcome to the world of mega-donors as foreign policy strategists who ensure that Israel remains first.
This report explores the major impact of Sheldon and Miriam Adelson on the political landscapes of both Israel and the U.S.
Discover how their support for right-wing politics and pro-Israel policies has shaped the actions of key political figures, including Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump, and influenced the Republican Party’s stance on Israel and the Middle East.
The entire Republican agenda of the United States for the Middle East, Iran and Israel is the creation of the Adelsons.
The situation around Aleppo in recent days has reminded us of the events at the dawn of the Syrian campaign, namely the rapid rise of the terrorist group “Islamic State”, which made a splash around the world by capturing Mosul in Iraq in a matter of days. Colleagues reminded us (https://t.me/inners_of_the_politics/153) of this.
The offensive against Aleppo initiated by Turkish-allied Islamists from Hayat Tahir Al-Sham (a re-branded Al Qaeda that has made common cause with ISIS) and the US-allied Syrian National Army is the consequence of a strategic plan between the Israelis and Turks, backed by the US, to cut off the supply route from Iran to Lebanon for Hezbollah, and threaten to destabilize/topple the Assad government, forcing Russia to divert resources from Ukraine to salvage their position in Syria. Ukraine has provided advisors to the anti-Assad militants on drone warfare. Israel has apparently extended its explosive pager/radio scheme into Syria as well, disrupting Syrian tactical command and control at a critical moment in the fighting.
