If the official visit by President Dmitry Medvedev to India this week came anywhere being marred, that was from a most unexpected quarter – onions. Indians can’t make curries without onions and the price of onions shot up by 200 percent in the bazaar. One kilogram costs a dollar-and-a-half and that is a lot of money for 80 percent of Indians.
