Back in the “War on Terror” days, the UK security services fabricated multiple fake terror plots. There was, for example, the 2009 Easter Bomb Plot in Manchester, taking entire front pages of newspapers. Gordon Brown as PM hyped it as a “very big terror plot”. It was a total fabrication, nobody was convicted and it eventually emerged that the trumpeted “bomb-making ingredient” the police confiscated from kitchens was sugar – in normal quantities.

By choosing the heading REFORM IS A RACIST PARTY it immediately brands the person receiving this leaflet and who is thinking of voting for Reform, as a racist. It is antagonistic not educative. The likely response will be to throw away the leaflet before reading it. There are many reasons people will vote for Reform. Some of it will be due to their conviction that migrants are stealing jobs, homes, and services, others not. Many more will be voting for Reform because they have been betrayed by both the Tory Party and the Labour Party, both of whom have made their lives worse and harder. Without these betrayals Reform would be a fringe party as can be seen from a poll taken after the local elections a few days ago, when Reform’s share of the vote shot up. Standard of living issues dominated the poll, not migrancy.

John Parker: This is a time when the attacks of fascism are so clear, so blatant. We work with a group called the Community Self-Defense Coalition, doing daily patrols. Over 60 organizations are part of it. If you see ICE, there’s a number you can call to bring the patrol out.

While much of the world’s attention is currently focused on the economic fallout of the tariffs imposed by the United States on allies and designated adversaries alike, they are only one part of a much wider strategy aimed at what U.S. policymakers themselves claim is a bid to maintain the U.S. as “the world’s dominant superpower.”

The “five safes”* Trusted Research Environments model has been tested over decades, meaning “safe people” doing “safe projects” on “safe data” in “safe settings” to produce “safe outputs”, and while the precise meaning of the five safes evolves with the context and the datasets, half baked additions of “new safes” weaken the whole model for short term gain.

Victory Day for Russia is the Day of Shame for the West!
It is not just ingratitude… If only it were! The actual causes of the disdain, misunderstanding, rejection, and repugnance displayed by the political elites of the U.S. and the EU toward the commemorations of Victory Day—the day the USSR put an end to one of the most heinous regimes born from the depths of human history, undoubtedly a testament to the peak of Western brutality fueled by the socio-economic roots of capitalism and imperialism—run much deeper.
